Bridgerton Season 3: Netflix Release Date, Cast & Story

It’s been revealed not too long ago that Netflix has greenlit Bridgerton Season 3 and Season 4, so we wanted to find out when Season 3’s release date could be on the streaming platform.

Bridgerton Season 2 has been doing huge numbers on Netflix.

It was revealed by Netflix themselves that Season 2 had been watched for over 193 million hours in its first weekend on the platform.

Those are huge numbers for the show, and I’m pretty certain that it’s going to end up being one of the most watched shows on Netflix of all time.

So, with all of this in mind, I was trying to find out when we could get to watch the third season of Shondaland Media’s new hit series.

So, Netflix has greenlit the show for at least two more seasons.

I’m hearing that there will be more seasons of the show beyond that.

Netflix and Shondaland Media sees Bridgerton as a real cash cow and they want to milk it for as long as possible.

They’ve landed upon a winning formula and even though people complained about the lack of sex scenes in Season 2, people still tuned in to watch the series in their millions.

I’m pretty certain that given the second seasons numbers, the third season will only end up drawing in even more viewers.

There’s been no news on when Bridgerton Season 3 will start filming.

However, what we do know is that they’re already working on the third season.

During an interview with PopBuzz on the red carpet at the world premiere for Bridgerton Season 2, executive producer Shonda Rhimes teased that fans may not have to wait as long to see Bridgerton return to their screens.

“We’re already working on season 3,” Rhimes revealed.

She then continued: “So we can have a shorter time between seasons.”

This means that they should be starting filming on Season 3 pretty soon.

With this in mind, I would expect Bridgerton Season 3 to be released in early 2023.

They want to make these seasons very quickly, and given the fact that the pandemic is coming to an end, filming won’t end up taking as long as it did for Bridgerton Season 2.

Who could star in Bridgertion Season 3? There are some actors I’m pretty much certain will be returning for Season 3.

The likes of Luke Thompson (Benedict), Luke Newton (Colin), Claudia Jessie (Eloise), Ruby Stokes (Francesca), Will Tilston (Gregory) and Florence Hunt (Hyacinth) will all likely return for Season 3.

Ruth Gemmell, who plays Violet Bridgerton, will also return.

The Featheringtons will also be returning for a third season, with the likes of Nicola Coughlan (Penelope), Polly Walker (Portia), Bessie Carter (Prudence) and Harriet Cains (Philippa) all back in action for Season 3.

Then there’s Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury) and Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte) who will also be back.

It’s also pretty much confirmed that Dame Julie Andrews will also return as the voice of Lady Whistledown.

Will Anthony and Kate return for Bridgerton Season 3?

As for Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley, it’s been confirmed that they will be returning in season 3 as Lord and Lady Bridgerton, the Viscount and Viscountess.

Speaking to Deadline, Simone revealed: “We’re going to be back! Kate and Anthony are just getting started.”

We have the amazing Jess Brownell who is taking the lead as showrunner in Season 3. In Season 2, there was a lot of push and pull between Kate and Anthony, there were complications with the family, and then they find each other towards the end. I think everything is just starting. I’d like to see Kate just let go a bit more and play more in Season 3 and kind of swim in that circle of love together. I think they both deserve it.

It’s currently unclear whether Phoebe Dynevor will come back for a third season as Daphne Bridgerton.

One actor who will not be in Season 3 is Regé-Jean Page as Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings.

Page left the series ahead of Bridgerton Season 2.
