It’s been revealed that Netflix’s latest hit, Bridgerton, is all set to become one of the streaming service’s biggest hits ever. This news comes from Deadline, who are reporting that the series is set to be streamed more times than The Queen’s Gambit, which was breaking previous records on Netflix.
It was recently revealed that Bridgerton, which is the first Netflix project from Grey’s Anatomy and How To Get Away With Murder’s creator, Shonda Rhimes has been doing really well with the streaming service. She signed an exclusive deal worth a reported $150 million, and it looks like her first series for the streaming service is now on course to hit 63 million streams.
This means that it’ll be streamed more than more The Queen’s Gambit, which was up until this point Netflix’s biggest hit of 2020. They’ve had so many hits this year, and I just cannot believe that they’ve managed to do it yet again with Bridgerton, which full disclosure, is a show I really do love.
Bridgerton is becoming one of Netflix’s biggest hits, not just of 2020, but of all time
All this means that Bridgerton is behind only The Witcher, Stranger Things Season 3, Money Heist Season 4 and Tiger King. I’m pretty sure that Bridgerton Season 2 will be greenlit by Netflix pretty soon, but I’ll be bringing you some news on that front pretty soon.
