Only Murders In The Building Season 2: Release Date, Cast & Story

Only Murders In The Building’s first season has come to an end and people naturally want to know about Season 2.

Is it happening? If so, what will happen in it, when will it be released on Disney Plus and who will be starring in the second season?

I am going to try and answer all of these questions for you in this article.

However, I might not have all the answers for you just yet.

I’ll be sure to update this article as soon as we have any new information to share with you.

Right, before I can really get into the meat of this article, I’m going to have to give you the premise of Only Murders In The Building.

Why, you ask? Good question since I’m sure that most of you reading this article have watched the first season already.

Well, it all has to do with the Google algorithm Gods: length, number of keywords… All that boring stuff.

Right, here’s the premise of Only Murders In The Building:

Three strangers who share an obsession with true crime suddenly find themselves caught up in one.

So, these three strangers are Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez).

They all start investigating a murder that happened in the building in which they live.

They also decide to start a true crime podcast called Only Murders In The Building – hence the show’s name.

Right, so, is Season 2 happening? Yes, it is.

This was confirmed by Disney not too soon after the first season aired.

The show’s proven to be a huge hit for Disney Plus which shouldn’t come as a surprise.

It stars Selena Gomez who’s the most followed person on Instagram.

Having her alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short – two comedic geniuses – doesn’t hurt either.

The show’s also about a true crime podcast, which are hugely popular right now.

It ticks so many boxes, and the show also happens to be really good.

As for the show’s release date, well, I’m not sure when Only Murders In The Building Season 2 will be available to stream on Disney Plus.

However, there might have been a hint in the show itself.

In the Only Murders in the Building Season 1 finale, podcast host Cinda Canning (Tina Fey) teased a second true-crime podcast titled “Only Murderers in the Building” would be coming “this fall.”

Could this mean that Only Murders in the Building Season 2 will arrive in Fall 2022?

Well, that would make sense given that filming is set to begin any time now.

This is a much harder question to answer.

The show ends on a huge cliffhanger with Oliver, Charles, and a blood-covered Mabel being arrested by the NYPD on suspicion of murder.

Just moments before their arrest, Arconcia board member Bunny (played by Jayne Houdyshell), was found in a pool of blood with Mabel’s knitting needle in her back.

However, Mabel insisted it “is not what it looks like” and said Bunny stumbled into her apartment and onto her.

Who really murdered Bunny, and who murdered Tim Konos? These are the questions that everybody wants answered, and I think Season 2 will get us a step closer to knowing who’s behind the murders.

I doubt that Mabel has anything to do with the killing, but you never know.

Well, that’s an easier question to answer.

Gomez, Martin and Short will all be back for Season 2.

I’ve also heard that Sting will be making yet another cameo appearance in the second season, as will Tina Fey.

Also, Amy Ryan should be back as Jan in Season 2.
