Ted Lasso Season 4 In The Works For Apple TV Plus

Ted-Lasso-Season-3

It’s been revealed to us by a source very close to the project that Ted Lasso Season 4 is already in the works for Apple TV Plus.

This is great news to me since I am a huge fan of Ted Lasso and I was rather worried that Season 3 would be the show’s final season.

Ted Lasso star and co-creator Jason Sudeikis has been quite open about the fact that his initial pitch for the show was a three-season story arc.

Therefore, this had me and many other people thinking that Season 3 could be the show’s last.

Here’s what Sudeikis told Entertainment Weekly:

It’s by no means me typing every key stroke and saying every word. It’s nowhere near like that. But the story that’s being told — that three-season arc — is one that I see, know and understood. I’m glad that they are willing to pay for those three seasons. As far as what happens after that, who knows? I don’t know.

It sounds like Sudeikis is still not sure whether he should continue with Ted Lasso past season three.

However, co-creator Bill Lawrence has said that he’s “hopeful” there will be more stories to tell.

Ted Lasso Season 4 is happening!

And, we’ve since been informed by a source close to the project that Ted Lasso Season 4 is currently in development over at Apple.

Here’s what the source had to say on the matter:

Ted Lasso Season 3 will not be the show’s final season. Season 4 is already in development for Apple TV+ and Jason Sudeikis is finalising his contract with Apple for the fourth season.

So, it sounds like not only Season 4 is happening, but Jason Sudeikis will also be returning as the manager of AFC Richmond.

It’ll be interesting to see what ends up happening in the fourth season.

There’ll a new manager in town in Season 3

It seems as though Season 3 will have a new villain in Nick Mohammed’s Nathan Shelly, who’s been hired as West Ham United’s new manager and will have an axe to grind with Lasso and AFC Richmond.

My suspicion is that given all the Emmy the second season of the show ended up getting, Apple was keen to keep the show going.
