Locke & Key Season 3: Netflix Release Date, Cast & Story

Lock-And-Key-Season-2-Season-3-Netflix

Locke & Key Season 2 has just been released on Netflix and it’s been doing very well on the streaming platform, but what about Season 3?

What’s happening with Locke & Key Season 3? Is it happening? Has it been confirmed? If so, when will it be released?

I am going to try and answer all of these questions for you to the best of my ability.

Now, before we get started, what is Locke & Key?

I’m perfectly aware that those of you reading this article wanting more information about the show’s release date will be saying: “We already know what this show is about!”

The thing is, Google’s algorithm requires us to use certain keywords and make these articles a certain length.

It’s super annoying, but we are beholden to our Google overlords.

What I’ll do is put the show’s official synopsis (via Netflix):

After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death. As the Locke children explore the different keys and their unique powers, a mysterious demon awakens — and will stop at nothing to steal them. From Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) and Meredith Averill (The Haunting of Hill House), Locke & Key is a coming-of-age mystery about love, loss, and the unshakable bonds that define family. Locke and Key on Netflix is the television adaptation of the best-selling comic book series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez for IDW Entertainment and returns October 22 for Season 2.

So, the show is based on a comic book series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez.

The comic book series is brilliant and the first two seasons of this show are also brilliant.

Season 3 started filming not too long ago.

It actually started filming right after Season 2.

We’ve actually got an interview with one of Season 3’s directors over on our YouTube channel.

His name is Jeremy Webb and he’s a very nice man and brilliant director. You can check out our interview with him below:

It was revealed that Locke & Key Season 3 was filming back in Spring of this year.

Interestingly enough, it was revealed by Netflix Life that Season 3 has already wrapped production.

It was filming in Toronto and the third season is now in post-production.

So, what does this mean?

Well, it means that it might be another four to six months before Season 3 is released on Netflix.

As the moment, the word is that Locke & Key Season 3 will be released in the spring of 2022, which isn’t that long to wait.

What could happen in Locke & Key Season 3?

One thing that Netflix might decide to do is hold onto the show until October of next year.

They did this for Season 2 and I wouldn’t be surprised if they decide to do the same thing with Season 3.

It’s a ‘horror’ show that kids can enjoy, so it would make sense to release new seasons every Halloween.

As for what might happen in Season 3, I think we’ll see more locks and more new keys.

Season 2 gave us more of this world’s very interesting lore and I’m pretty sure that Season 3 will introduce fans to even more spooky stuff.
