Fantastic Four MCU Movie Villain Rumoured To Be Galactus

It’s being reported that the Fantastic Four Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie is going to feature Galactus as its main villain, which is a pretty huge deal. Galactus is one of Marvel’s biggest-ever villains, and fans of the comic books have been hoping to see the character in the movies for a very, very long time.

There have been some hints in the MCU that Galactus is coming. However, until this point, we still haven’t seen the character in live-action yet. The thing is, the Marvel Cinematic Universe does have a bit of a villain problem.

Since Thanos was taken out of the picture in Avengers: Endgame, the Marvel movies’ villains have left a lot to be desired. I was really hoping that Christian Bale’s Gorr The God Butcher was going to sort this issue.

However, in the end, Bale’s performance in Thor: Love And Thunder was brilliant, but I feel like his character’s story arc was severely edited, and in the end, we got a very watered-down version of the villain that Bale wanted to play.

So, who’s been saying that the upcoming Fantastic Four movie is going to introduce Galactus into the MCU? It actually comes from a Twitter user called MyTimeToShineHello. Many people have been taking what this Twitter user has been posting as fact when it comes to their MCU and DC Universe scoops.

The only reason I’m covering this rumour, because we try not to cover random Twitter users’ scoops here on Small Screen, is because a site we really trust and admire called Murphy’s Multiverse posted about this rumour.

They wouldn’t have done that unless they trusted the source and had heard something similar from their own sources. Murphy’s Multiverse has posted a number of scoops over the years that have proven to be true.

It’s also time for Galactus to be brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’s a huge deal in the comics and is often tied to the Fantastic Four. This upcoming movie has been in development Hell for quite some time now.

Does Marvel have a director problem?

The movie’s original director, Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Jon Watts, ended up leaving the project due to “creative differences” with Marvel Studios. This is an excuse that many directors have used for leaving the Marvel movie they were supposed to direct.

Edgar Wright left Ant-Man due to “creative differences” back in 2014. Patty Jenkins left Thor: The Dark World because of “creative differences”. Ava DuVernay left Black Panther due to “creative differences”. Scott Derrickson left Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness due to “creative differences”.

Jon Watts left Fantastic Four due to “creative differences”. This was then followed by Bassam Tariq, who left the Blade movie due to, you guessed it, “creative differences”.

That’s six directors who have all left Marvel Cinematic Universe projects due to “creative differences”. That is a lot, and it’s becoming a pretty bad trend for Marvel Studios.

The question is, will the Fantastic Four MCU movie be good? Well, I really hope it will be. Marvel Studios was quick to hire Matt Shakman to direct the movie after Jon Watts left the project.

Shakman directed all the episodes of WandaVision, which I believe is still one of the better Disney Plus Marvel shows. So, it seems as though the project is in a safe pair of hands.

However, another question I have is, has Marvel just hired something of a “yes man”, to helm this project? Shakman is a relatively unknown director. He’s only really done TV shows before this pretty big Marvel project.

This Fantastic Four movie could be incredibly important for the future and the longevity of the MCU. They need to get it right, and I think Marvel Studios has hired someone they know will get the job done and not make too many waves in doing so.

We’re just going to have to wait and see what happens when the movie is released.

The film is scheduled to be released on February 14th, 2025. Are you looking forward to watching the movie?
