Many DC fans have come out in support of DC Studios’ new co-CEO, James Gunn, and have started the hashtags #WeRunWithGunn and #RunWithGunn on Twitter, and they’re starting to get some traction on the social media platform. This all comes after there was a lot of backlash to Gunn’s proposal for the new DC Universe.

What really happened was that Gunn did what a lot of people in Hollywood were too afraid to do: admit that it was time to let the past die and start something new. Gunn was brave enough to scrap all the DCEU plans and take it all back to zero and announce the new DC Universe.

So, he’s got a lot of plans in motion now and wants to create a more united DC Comics universe where movies, TV shows, comic books and video games are all interconnected, which is what Marvel Studios did with the MCU, but for some reason, DC was never really able to do.

However, James Gunn didn’t just do that. He also basically brought the SnyderVerse to an end, and I think that it was about time for that to end. There were some good moments in the SnyderVerse, but I think we all need to agree that they needed to do something new with the DC movies and TV shows.

It’s time that we all ran with James Gunn on the DC Universe!

So, James Gunn announced new projects such as Superman: Legacy and Batman: The Brave And The Bold, to name but a few. These new projects will not feature the likes of Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck. So, it seems as though after The Flash and Aquaman 2 are released, that will basically be it for the DCEU actors and characters.

This news really angered the SnyderVerse ‘fandom’ online and they started the hashtag #FireGunn and also other hashtags such as #SellSnyderVerseToNetflix and #SellZSJLToNetflix. These hashtags got a lot of traction on Twitter, but finally, some more open-minded and less ‘cultish’ DC fans have started to fight back against this wave of negativity and pure hatred in some circles.

So, @ResonantJustice and @SaggyMelonz started a new campaign in which they would try and get the hashtags #WeRunWithGunn and #RunWithGunn trending on Twitter, and you know what, it’s working!

The SnyderVerse has to stay in the past. It’s time to move on

We’re now seeing fans express their support of James Gunn and his vision for the DC Universe, which wasn’t really happening before, or at least, I wasn’t seeing much positivity for Gunn before this new campaign kicked off.

I usually don’t like writing about these online campaigns, but I do like writing about them when they are promoting something positive and not hate! I think it’s time to take a step back and realise that the SnyderVerse is over and that that’s not a bad thing.

Zack had his time making DC movies, and now he’s moved on to other and hopefully even bigger things. He’s making Rebel Moon for Netflix and that will be a huge epic which will span over two movies! He’ll also make another Army Of The Dead film for the streamer.

So, he’s OK, and I think James Gunn has the background, the talent and the passion needed to turn DC Studios into a real powerhouse of a studio that makes genuinely interesting and different comic book movies and TV shows.

I love the sound of the likes of Superman: Legacy, Batman: The Brave And The Bold, a horror Swamp Thing movie, The Authority, and also TV shows such as Creature Commandos, Lanterns, Paradise Lost and Booster Gold!

I think we all need to take a step back and give the guy a chance. I’m excited about the future of DC Comics movies and TV shows, and I think you should be too. So, yes, I #RunWithGunn!
