Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon’s release date on Netflix has been revealed in a recent sizzle reel which they posted on YouTube. The video revealed that Snyder’s next movie will be released on December 22nd, 2023.

It seems like this is Netflix’s biggest movie of the year. It’s certainly being billed like that.

The video that Netflix released on their YouTube channel was called ‘Save The Dates | 2023 Films Preview’, and it gave us a little glimpse at Netflix’s upcoming movies such as Extraction 2, The Mother and Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon.

The movie is going to be an epic space opera, and it’s being directed by Zack Snyder. He’s working off of a screenplay that Snyder co-wrote with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad.

The screenplay is based on a story Snyder created with Johnstad. The movie features an ensemble cast, including the likes of Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Ray Fisher, Djimon Hounsou, Jena Malone, Corey Stoll, Ed Skrein, Cleopatra Coleman, Fra Fee, Cary Elwes, and Anthony Hopkins.

Rebel Moon is a co-production of Netflix, The Stone Quarry and Grand Electric. The movie is going to be released on Netflix, but it’s also going to get a limited theatrical release.

It was also revealed that a follow-up, Rebel Moon Part 2, is being shot with the film back-to-back. They are filming the sequel as we speak.

Speaking about the film’s future as a franchise, Snyder told The Hollywood Reporter the following:

My hope is that this also becomes a massive IP and a universe that can be built out.
