So, as it stands, Netflix’s The Witcher Season 3 release date hasn’t yet been announced. However, we can look at when The Witcher and The Witcher Season 2 landed on Netflix.

The first season landed on the streamer in December 2019, and the second season dropped in December 2021. So, with that in mind, it does seem as though there’s been a release strategy as far as new seasons of The Witcher’s concerned.

It’s been revealed that The Witcher’s prequel, Blood Origin, will be released in 2022. So, that means that The Witcher Season 3 might not be released until 2023.

For reference, Season 2’s production was halted due to Covid-19 cases on set. Then Henry Cavil ended up injuring himself whilst filming the second season.

Production on Season 2 then began again in February 2020 and ran until April 2021. It was released a few months later in December 2021. Filming on the third season is now officially underway.

This was revealed a while back by Redanian Intelligence. The third season has been filming in the UK, Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia.

So, with all of this in mind, it does seem as though The Witcher Season 3 won’t be released until December 2023. It looks like The Witcher: Blood Origin will be released later this year in December 2022.

This means that we’re going to have to wait a while before the third season of The Witcher is released on Netflix. However, Netflix could end up pushing the third season’s release date forward if they’re struggling to get popular content on the streaming platform.
