Henry Cavill And Marvel In Talks For Big MCU Role

Henry Cavill Marvel Captain Britain MCU Role

Henry Cavill might be about to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)! This report comes to us from a variety of sources, but it’s also something that we’ve been told by our own sources recently. The likes of Grace Randolph and FandomWire have already hinted at the Superman actor joining the MCU. We’re now hearing that the British actor and Marvel are talking about how he could join the MCU.

So, first thing’s first, let’s talk about what Grace Randolph had to say about Henry Cavill potentially joining the MCU. Here’s what she said in a tweet:

So I hear #Marvel IS open to casting #HenryCavill and ARE discussing some roles with him – at least one that I’ve heard of

So, let’s talk about how one of the most iconic actors of our generation could join the Marvel Cinematic Universe and which character he would be perfect for.

Before we get into all of that, our source informed us that “Cavill and Marvel have been talking.” This got us very intrigued, so we pressed the source for a bit more information. The source, who wished to remain anonymous, but we can confirm that they have very close ties to Marvel and Disney, then added that “the role is being kept very much under wraps”. However, they added that “the word is that it’s big and going to make Marvel fans very happy if all works out.”

Interestingly enough, we already revealed back in July 2021 that Cavill was seen at Disney’s offices in London, and it was reported to us that he was there to meet with Marvel representatives in person. It does seem as though the conversations have really come along since then. This is all very, very exciting.

Which roles could he play in the MCU?

There are so many roles that Henry Cavill would be perfect for. We did try and get some more information out of our source about the role, but they were honest and admitted that they didn’t know, and all they would be doing would be guessing if there were to start naming Marvel characters Henry could be up for playing in the MCU. There has been a lot of talk about Cavill turning up in Loki Season 2 as Hyperion, which would be a really interesting bit of casting.

So, now it’s time to speculate on which roles Henry Cavill might be interested in playing in the MCU. Hyperion is a really good shout. However, another role that has been mentioned has been Reed Richards in the first Fantastic Four movie. That would be really interesting. At the moment, the main names tied to that role have been Penn Badgley and John Krasinski. However, I do actually think that Cavill would be a great shout for Mr Fantastic.

Isn’t he going to be playing Superman again?

Another rather obvious role for Cavill to play in the MCU is Captain Britain. However, if you’ve been reading my articles here on Small Screen, then you’ll be well aware of the fact that I’ve already been approached by Kevin Feige to play the MCU’s Captain Britain. All I have to do is sign on the dotted line and get really serious in the gym. Keep your eyes open for more details on me playing Captain Britain in the MCU.

All jokes aside, it does look like Henry Cavill might be swapping the DC Universe for the MCU. However, there have been many people who have pointed out that he could easily turn up in both universes at the same time. There have been rumours that Warner Bros Discovery has been very keen on getting Henry Cavill to play Superman again in the DC Universe. We’re just going to have to wait and see what ends up happening. It really does seem as though the ball’s very much in Cavill’s court.
