A few years later, Mojang announced that the Minecraft film would be released on May 24, 2019 “in 3D & IMAX.” But that day passed without the much-anticipated Minecraft live-action film being released. As a result, it missed the second deadline, and a new director joined the project in 2022.
However, the Minecraft film has not been scrapped. The release date was pushed back even further because of the COVID-19 epidemic.
