It’s being reported that Jon Bernthal will be returning as The Punisher in an upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) project.

This was recently reported by a ‘scooper’ on Twitter.

However, before I go into all of that, I wanted to bring your attention to an article that we posted back on the 30th of September 2021.

In this article, entitled ‘New Punisher Series In The Works – Details Revealed‘, we revealed that Bernthal was indeed in talks to return as The Punisher.

Not only that, but he was also talking to Marvel Studios about a future Punisher series.

In that article, we also revealed that Charlie Cox would be returning as Daredevil in multiple MCU projects.

We also broke the story – in that same article – that Krysten Ritter would be returning as Jessica Jones.

However, this ‘scooper’ on Twitter who’s now come out with a tweet in which they simply say: “Jon Bernthal’s’ (sic) Punisher will return”.

That tweet’s gone on to get 10.2K likes, 990 retweets and 645 quote tweets.

So, it seems as though people like the idea of seeing Jon Bernthal return as The Punisher in the MCU.

Honestly, there’s no one alive at the moment who would be better suited for the role.

He already showed how perfect he was as Frank Castle in the Netflix Marvel series.

Bernthal starred in two seasons of The Punisher and was debuted as the character in the second season of Daredevil.

Bernthal even revealed during an interview with The Hollywood Reported that he would love to return as Frank Castle.

Here’s what he had to say when he was asked about playing the iconic Marvel comic book character again:

He’s really in my heart, man. He’s really in my bones. I’m enormously protective of that character. I’ve said before that there’s nothing in this world more important to me than my wife and my kids, and only until you understand that kind of love and what it really means to willingly die for somebody, [do you understand] what it would be like if somebody took them from you. That’s a road and a darkness and a rage that really, really scares me and brings me to places that I’ve worked the last 20 years to get away from. So I was really grateful, respectful, and weary of the places where that role took me and the world in which I had to live in.

The punisher was always good as a separate character from the MCU due to no super powers , violence and more realistic type stories.
Punisher war journal and war zone kept it as his own universe.

The hell do we care if you first “broke the news” of these Netflix actors returning, months ago when some of their deals were in various levels of undecided/uncertain states?

IMO, with the entertainment pundits in your profession, you should be able to purely speculate this stuff without even needing… Whatever it is you think you need to break leaks of pseudo-true information (casting wide nets with some of those, so something’s bound to turn up true).

At the very least, we certainly don’t need you to reiterate what some rando “scooper” spat out onto the web in a blah video. But at least you spent half the article pointing out all this other track record stuff on your part… But alas, it’s not as if we will take that into account for the next batch of projects. In fact, I’m only here because of an MCU algorithm on my feed, and I only write this to let you know we readers are not all rumor-mongering sycophants.
