First Kill Season 2: Netflix Release Date, Cast & Story

First Kill is a new series that’s really getting Netflix subscribers talking and they mostly want to know about Season 2.

Is it happening? If so, when will it be released, who will star in it and what could the story be about.

These are all questions that we’re going to try to address in this article.

But, be warned, not all the answers are out there at the moment.

Netflix likes to keep its cards very close to its chest and we probably won’t have clear answers until the very last second.

But, there is still some information about a possible First Kill Season 2.

This is the first question I want to answer in this article.

So, is First Kill Season 2 happening?

Well, as it stands, there’s no official renewal for First Kill Season 2.

The show was released on June 2nd and it’s been doing pretty well on the streaming platform.

The show’s currently sitting in third place on Netflix’s Top Ten shows list, which is pretty good.

It’s behind Stranger Things (of course) and Peaky Blinders.

So, it’s safe to say that the show’s been performing well on Netflix, but I think it’s been pretty hard done by, and I’ll explain why.

This show, which was created by V.E. Schwab had the potential to be a huge success on the platform.

However, there was a distinct lack of marketting for the series, and that was because Netflix put all its weight behind Stranger Things Season 4.

I knew next to nothing about the series before I just heard people talking about it on Twitter.

This is often the issue with Netflix shows. The streamer just doesn’t market them very well, which means that subscribers have to find these sorts of shows on their own.

First Kill Season 1 sees Juliette and Calliope falling in love on screen to the disappointment and surprise of everyone around them.

The series stars Imani Lewis as Calliope Burns, Sarah Catherine Hook as Juliette Fairmont, Elizabeth Mitchell as Margot Fairmont, and Gracie Dzienny as Elinor Fairmont.

I would expect most of the cast to return for a second season, but we still have no real idea if a season 2 will happen or not.

I have reached out to sources close to Twitter, but at the moment, the show is in a state of limbo.

The only answer I’ve been able to get from people at Netflix was: “We have no news to share about the future of First Kill”.

That was from a Netflix representatitve and I really hope this doesn’t mean that they are planning on cancelling the show.

This is a huge issue with Netflix. They have a tendancy of making a lot of shows and cancelling them after just one season.

This is why it’s very dangerous to get sucked into a Netflix series, because there’s a high possibility that it’ll end up beign cancelled.

It was revealed that its first three days on Netflix globally, the show picked up 30.34 million hours placing it number 7 for that week.

It was up against stiff competition in that first week too with Surviving Summer and of course, Stranger Things dominating both headlines and viewership.

Anyway, back to the story. What could happen in Season 2?

Well, at the moment, there’s no news on that front.

Here’s a quick recap of First Kill Season 1’s finale before we dive into where we’re headed next.

Here’s a remainder of what happened in the final episode:

Blood flows and betrayal burns after a shocking turn of events leaves devastation in its wake – and tests the bonds of love between Cal and Juliette.

The season ends with a big bust up and the relationship between Juliette and Calliope seems to be pretty much dead.

I mean, Cal vows to one day kill Juliette and all legacies like her, so yeah, it’s not looking too good for the pair’s future romance.

One of the big plot lines going into First Kill Season 2 would be Theo becoming a vampire and his journey into that world and coming to terms with his new reality.

As Digital Spy notes, Elinor is in a spot of bother for a second season to saying:

Elinor’s part in the whole Theo-vamp debacle has inadvertently landed her in police custody. Without her parent’s help to save her, how will she escape jail? We smell multiple murders on the horizon.
