Yep, you heard it here first (pretty much) – it looks like Marvel Studios has ordered the Blade movie’s script to be rewritten for the fifth time! That must be some sort of record!
It’s being reported that Marvel Studios has got their scribes of this upcoming MCU Blade movie to rewrite the script, and it sounds as though they want to turn it into a sort of Midnight Suns project.
This news comes to us via Daniel Richtman, otherwise known as DanielRPK. He’s an industry scooper of some renown who tends to get things pretty much spot on.
The insider claims that the Mahershala Ali-led Marvel vehicle will no longer be a period piece. DanielRPK reports that the movie will now take place in the modern-day MCU.
Richtman also added that the idea is to tie the movie into a future Midnight Suns project, which is interesting.
It’ll be fascinating to see how the film develops from this point onwards.

There have been so many changes to the movie’s script, and there have even been reports that Ali has wanted to leave the project on multiple occasions because he wasn’t happy with the direction in which it was going.
The movie has changed directors once already – Yann Demange is now directing it – and it’s supposedly being penned by Gene Colan, Michael Green and Stacy Osei-Kuffour.
Will Blade be able to hit its 2025 release date?
It’ll be interesting to see what ends up happening with this Blade MCU movie and whether it manages to stick to its 2025 release date.
I personally have a feeling it won’t be able to make a 2025 release date, but miracles can happen.
The movie is reportedly set to start filming in September, so we’ll have to wait and see how it all unfolds.
