It’s been revealed that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin will be key players in the upcoming Echo series on Disney Plus. This news comes after it was revealed that Cox and D’Onfrio would be in the series.

There’s been a lot of movement in the MCU as far as its TV offerings are concerned. We’ve got the likes of Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onforio and Jon Bernthal all return in their respective Marvel Studios roles. That is great news, and it seems as though they are all going to be big players in the future of the MCU.

The Echo series is going to set up the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series, which I think is a great idea. I have a feeling that the Daredevil series is going to be vital for the future of the MCU. They need to get it right, and so far, it sounds like they are doing the right things to make the series as good as it possibly can be.

This news comes via The Hollywood Reporter. The article was actually about Jon Bernthal’s return to the MCU as The Punisher in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series. That news confirmed our exclusive from the 22nd of February earlier this year.

Here’s what The Hollywood Reporter had to say on the matter:

Bernthal and his co-stars, it seemed, were done with Marvel. But in January 2021, Marvel boss Kevin Feige told THR he considered the Netflix characters to still be in play, and by the end of the year, Cox was revealed to have a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and went on to appear in She-Hulk. His Daredevil co-star D’Onofrio appeared in Hawkeye, and both Cox and D’Onofrio are key figures in the upcoming Echo, a series said to set the stage for Born Again.

So, it seems as though Daredevil and Kingpin are going to be big players in the MCU moving forward, which I think is really good news. I love both Cox and D’Onofrio in these roles, and I was so happy to hear that they would both be returning to play them in future Marvel TV shows and, hopefully, the movies.

When will the Echo series be released?

As for when this Echo series will be released, we’re not really sure. We do know that the series will be part of the MCU’s Phase 5. However, it was recently revealed that the series had been pushed back slightly.

The series was initially scheduled to be released on Disney Plus in mid-2023. However, it was then revealed in December 2022 that the series would likely be released around a year from then, indicating a December 2023 premiere.

By February 2023, the series was reportedly unlikely to premiere that year as Disney and Marvel Studios were re-evaluating their content output. So, this means that the series might have been pushed into 2024, which I don’t think is a bad thing. I think that Marvel Studios needs to take more time and care with their upcoming projects.
