Watchmen Season 2 Might Happen But Damon Lindelof Won’t Be Involved

I’ve made it very clear how much I loved Watchmen Season 1 and I was sad to hear that a Season 2 might not be on the cards at HBO, but I did also understand why.

Damon Lindelof had made it clear that he’d told the story he wanted to tell and that for him it was a one and done kind of thing.

However, there were many of us who were holding out hope that he could end up getting an idea on how a Watchmen Season 2 could work and then write it, but it looks like he’s officially said goodbye to the show.

It’s been revealed in USA Today that Damon Lindelof won’t be making Watchmen Season 2, but that he’s given his blessing to HBO and that they can make it.

Yet, it won’t be involving Lindelof and I think you can’t have Watchmen without Lindelof.

He was the creator and showrunner of the first season and many of the reasons why it was so good was because he was at the helm.

Watchmen Season 2 without Lindelof wouldn’t be Watchmen

Now, he’s made it very clear that he couldn’t have done it without the help of his incredible writers’ room, the actors and the crew, however, he was the one holding it all together.

Without him at the helm, I really don’t think Watchmen Season 2 will have the same tightness, the same importance as the first season.

Now, I can understand why HBO wants to make a second season. Watchmen Season 1 proved to be a very popular show, both with critics and audiences.

However, I also think that you need to be very careful with these sorts of things. Do you really want to run the risk of destroying what the show stands for with a bad Season 2?

I don’t think so.

What do you guys think about this? Do you think HBO can make a good Watchmen Season 2 without Damon Lindelof?
