Mindhunter is one of my very favourite Netflix Original TV shows and I was dying to see what they might do in Season 3.
Well, it looks like the show that David Fincher created and put so much time and effort into might have been cancelled.
Now, before everybody starts getting their knickers in a twist, it’s been put on hold indefinitely, which means there’s still a chance the show could be renewed.
According to TV Line, Mindhunter Season 3 has been put on hold indefinitely by Netflix and the reason they give is because of David Fincher’s very busy schedule.
Here’s what Netflix said about Mindhunter Season 3 being put in indefinite hiatus:
David is focused on directing his first Netflix film Mank and on producing the second season of Love, Death and Robots. He may revisit Mindhunter again in the future, but in the meantime felt it wasn’t fair to the actors to hold them from seeking other work while he was exploring new work of his own.
It really does sound as if Fincher’s got an awful lot on his plate right now, and I am pretty excited to see his Netflix film Mank.
Mindhunter Season 3’s been put on indefinite hiatus
He’s making a lot of stuff for Netflix. He’s already made Mindhunter Seasons 1 and 2, Love, Death and Robots Season 1 and he about to make Season 2 of that show and a new film for Netflix called Mank.
That’s a lot of balls to be juggling with. Adding Mindhunter Season 3 to the mix might have been a step too far.
Hopefully, Fincher will end up coming back to Mindhunter as soon as he’s done with the countless other projects he’s working on.
What do you make of this? Were you looking forward to Mindhunter Season 3 as well?
