The Umbrella Academy Season 2 should be arriving on Netflix very soon.
Yet, we haven’t heard anything official about the show’s release date so far.
The first season of The Umbrella Academy was a huge hit with Netflix subscribers.
It turned out that The Umbrella Academy Season 1 was one of the most-watched shows on the streaming platform in 2019.
As 2019 came to a close, Netflix’s international Twitter accounts shared which shows and movies were streamed the most in each county, and I was glad to see that The Umbrella Academy was in the top three in the US.

To be honest, it’s not surprising the show did so well with Netflix audiences across the globe.
First off, it’s based on an original property.
The show is based on a series of comic book Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá.
That said, it’s still a huge coup for the show to have done so well in its first year.
It’s especially impressive if you consider the fact that it was a brand new TV show based on a pretty niche property.
We already know that Season 2 of The Umbrella Academy has wrapped filming.
This means it shouldn’t be too long before the upcoming season of the hit Netflix show is released.
We still don’t know yet what to expect from the next season of the TV show, but there are many reasons to be excited, and hopefully, the fact that so many people have streamed the first season means that there will be plenty more seasons to come.
Netflix does have a rather nasty habit of cancelling shows before their time, so I do hope they stick with this one, as I’m sure many of you do too.
Does Season 2 have a released date?
As for what will happen in The Umbrella Academy Season 2, there have been a whole load of theories about how it might play out.
I’ve read a lot of fan theories on The Umbrella Academy Season 2 and some of them are quite interesting.
However, there’s one which was posted on Screen Rant which really caught my eye.
The theory suggesting that the members of The Umbrella Academy will end up time jumping to 1963 in Season 2.
Once you put two and two together this particular theory really starts to add up.
We already know that The Umbrella Academy was forced to jump back through time after they failed to stop the end of the world.
Now, we don’t know where they went after this time jump.
Many people are theorising that they are going to go back to the 1990s.
The reason behind this is because it looked like they were transforming into their younger selves.
However, the theory suggests that they might actually be going back to 1960s Dallas.
There are a whole load of reasons why this could be the case.
Would Number 5 travel back to the 1960s

We already know that Number 5 was tasked with the mission of having to assassinate President JFK in 1963 in Dallas.
We also know that he didn’t succeed in doing it, but someone else did.
The theory suggests that the person who took out the president was actually a member of The Umbrella Academy.
It all boils down to the whole, “Kill Kennedy, Save the World” storyline in the Dallas Volume of The Umbrella Academy comic books.
Gerard Way himself – he’s the man who wrote the comics, and was also the lead singer of My Chemical Romance – has said that Season 2 would focus more on that volume of his comic books series.
This means that the second season could very likely end up taking place in 1960s Dallas.
In the Dallas story arc of the comics, Number 5 teams up with the Temps Aeternalis (which is called the Commission in the show).
He does this to try and convince his older self to assassinate Kennedy in 1963.
The Umbrella Academy Season 2 is going to be wild
The reason he does this is because doing so would apparently save the world from nuclear destruction.
Something similar could happen in the Netflix TV show.
There’s also the fact that the very first episode of Season 2 is called ‘Right Back Where We Started’.
This seems to suggest they might end up going back to the 1990s, early 2000s.
This was when they started fighting crime as The Umbrella Academy.
However, it might actually be in reference to the moment where old Number 5 failed to assassinate the President.
This started a whole chain of events resulting in Vanya blowing up the Moon and subsequently destroying Earth.
What do you guys think of this The Umbrella Academy Season 2 theory and what do you think will happen in the upcoming season?
