The Umbrella Academy Season 1 Was One Of The Most-Watched TV Shows On Netflix In 2019
It seems as though The Umbrella Academy Season 1 really struck a chord with viewers the world over. The TV show kind of came out of nowhere and people just couldn’t get enough of it.
Personally, I thought it was a brilliant show, and it’s easily in my top 10 TV show of 2019, along with the likes of other Netflix shows such as Stranger Things Season 3, La Casa De Papel Part 3 and Sex Education Season 1.
However, for some reason, The Umbrella Academy was the show I was most excited to see more of after finishing Season 1.
It might have been down to the incredible cliffhanger ending or the fact that it was basically a very unique take on Marvel Comics’ X-Men, but there was something about the show which is based on a series of comic books by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá.
Anyway, as the year came to a close, Netflix’s Internation Twitter accounts shared which shows and movies were streamed the most in each county, and I was glad to see that The Umbrella Academy was in the top three in the US.
The Umbrella Academy Season 1 Was The Third Most-Streamed Show in The US

This is kind of huge for the show, especially since it was a brand new TV show based on a pretty niche property.
We already know that Season 2 of The Umbrella Academy has wrapped filming, which means it shouldn’t be too long before the upcoming season of the hit Netflix show lands on the streaming platform.
We still don’t know yet what to expect from the next season of the TV show, but there are many reasons to be excited, and hopefully, the fact that so many people have streamed the first season means that there will be plenty more seasons to come.
Netflix does have a rather nasty habit of cancelling shows before their time, so I do hope they stick with this one, as I’m sure many of you do too.
What do you make of this news, and were you one of the many people to stream the first season of The Umbrella Academy?
