It was revealed a few months back that Naughty Dog was working on doing a remake of their incredible 2013 action-adventure game, The Last Of Us.
However, I never believed that they would be able to do it so as quickly as they seemingly have done.
The video game was originally released on PlayStation 3 and it was then re-released on PlayStation 4 a few weeks afterwards.
Interestingly enough, it remains to this day one of the best video games ever to have been released on the Sony gaming console.
The game then got a sequel, The Last Of Us Part 2, which was well-received by the critics, but it was rather problematic for the fans.
There were some story beats in the second game that fans didn’t like all that much.
Personally, I really enjoyed the game, but I still think the first one was a better story.
The Last Of Us remake could be released towards the end of 2022
It was then revealed that a series based on The Last Of Us video game was in the works for HBO Max.
They cast The Mandalorian’s Pedro Pascal as Joel and Game Of Thrones’ Bella Ramsey as Ellie.
They also added Gabriel Luna (Agents Of SHIELD) to the cast as Joel’s brother, Tommy.
That’s a pretty impressive cast, and I’ll be interested to see what happens in the show and whether they’ll stick religiously to what happened in the game.
As for The Last Of Us Remake, here’s what Tom Henderson had to say on when it could be released:
Heard from multiple people now that the TLOU remake is nearly finished and could release during the latter half of 2022
We’re going to have to wait and see what happens.
This The Last Of Us Remake would be for PlayStation 5.
