Sony PlayStation and Naughty Dog have revealed that The Last Of Us Part 2 has a new release date after it was delayed to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Last of Us Part 2 has been my most anticipated PlayStation 4 title for quite some time now.
When this whole lockdown was announced, I was actually quite looking forward to getting some time to play Naughty Dog’s upcoming game.
However, it was then revealed by Sony and Naughty Dog that they were delaying the title due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
This meant that we were going to have to wait to play the game and we didn’t know how long for.
There were rumours that it was going to be released on June 25th.
It’s now been revealed via ComicBook.com that Sony and Naughty Dog will be releasing the game on June 19th.
The Last Of Us Part 2 has a new release date
So, it turns out that the rumoured date wasn’t too far off, which is usual to say the least.
This means that we don’t have too long to wait until the game is released on PlayStation 4.
In addition to the release date for The Last of Us Part 2, Sony also revealed the new debut date for Ghost of Tsushima.
This was one of the other major titles that got delayed thanks to COVID-19.
Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima will arrive on July 17th, just a month after The Last of Us Part 2.
“I want to personally congratulate and thank both the teams at Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions on their achievements, as we know it’s not an easy feat to reach the finish line under these circumstances,” said Hermen Hulst, head of worldwide studios for Sony Interactive Entertainment.
“Both teams have worked hard to deliver world-class experiences, and we can’t wait to see what you think of them when they release in just a few short months.”
