It’s been revealed that Swamp Thing will be turning up in Constantine 2, which will see Keanu Reeves return as the titular DC Comics character. This news comes from Mikey Sutton over at Geekosity, and I think this is great news!
According to Mikey’s sources, Warner Bros. Pictures is looking at bringing Swamp Thing into the movie. However, they didn’t give him any specific details about how the character will feature in the picture. Will he be a villain or will he be helping John Constantine in the movie? I would expect Swamp Thing to be helping John out in this movie. In the comics, John Constantine and Swamp Thing were both part of the Justice League Dark, and I think they might be looking to set that movie up.

It was revealed not too long ago that Warner Bros Discovery had greenlit a Constatine sequel, which came a surprise to many people, myself included. I hadn’t heard anything about this movie being in production. I felt as though a Constantine sequel was something that Warner Bros might not want to do because the first movie didn’t perform incredibly well at the box office.
However, Reeves’ star has risen over the years, and I think the studio saw an opportunity to cash in on the actor’s immense popularity. After starring in the John Wick movies, Reeves has become something of a household name, and we all love him here at Small Screen. However, I will state that we loved Reeves way before the John Wick movies were released!

It was also revealed that Francis Lawrence would be coming back to direct the sequel. He directed the first movie, and that was his directorial debut. Lawrence has since gone on to direct a number of The Hunger Games movies, as well as I Am Legend and Red Sparrow. He’s also directed several of the episodes of Apple TV Plus’s series, See.
It seems as though it’s full steam ahead on this Constantine sequel, and I couldn’t be happier. I also love the fact that they are bringing Swamp Thing into this movie. It was also reported that the film is going to see Tilda Swinton return as the Angel Gabriel. That’s something that I am very much looking forward to seeing.
