It’s been revealed that Stranger Things Season 4 has broken all of Netflix’s previous viewership records becoming one of the platform’s most-watched series ever!

This news was revealed by Netflix themselves (via Forbes).

According to third-party data, Stranger Things Season 4 has had the biggest opening of any other Netflix show in the English language.

The previous holder of that title was Bridgerton Season 2.

Netflix revealed that subscribers watched 286.7 million hours of Stranger Things Season 4.

However, it has to be said that Netflix’s data cannot be independently confirmed.

This all means that Stranger Things Season 4 ended up toppling Bridgerton Season 2.

That series aired back in March and fans watched 193 million hours of the show during its premiere weekend.

As far as the most-viewed English-language show in its first 28 days of being on the platform, Bridgerton Season 2 still holds the title.

That season of Bridgerton had an incredible first 28 days with 656.2 million hours viewed.

It’s closely followed by season 1 of Bridgerton, with 625.4 million hours viewed, and Stranger Things Season 3 with 582.1 hours viewed.

However, Squid Game still holds the record for the most-watched show in its first 28 days on the platform overall, with 1.6 billion hours viewed.

That said, it’s been revealed that the new season of Stranger Things had a bigger opening than Squid Game.

Yet, Squid Game really had legs and ended up becoming more and more popular as time went on.
