Squid Game’s creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, has revealed that there are two characters who are definitely going to be returning for Season 2 of the Netflix show.
This was revealed during the outlet’s annual Contenders Television at Paramount Studios.
They both joined TV editor Peter White to talk about Season 2 and gave fans a little taste of what they could expect from the second season.
During the event, Hwang revealed that “Gi-hun for sure,” would be coming back for Season 2.
He then added: “He will be back, and I believe the Front Man will back too.”
Which characters will be returning for Squid Game Season 2?
Lee Jung-jae played Gi-hun in the series and he was the only survivor and winner of the series of deadly kids’ games.
There was a huge reveal at the end of the season in which Gi-hun found out who was the person behind the games.
He found out that the old man he befriended during the games, O Yeong-su’s Oh Il-nam, was actually behind the whole thing.
At the very end of Squid Game Season 1, Gi-hun is shown deciding against going to see his daughter in the US.
Squid Game season 2 will be very different from season 1
He decides instead to put a stop to the brutal annual games he was a part of.
The Front Man, on the other hand, who’s played by Korean star Lee Byung-hun, is the one who was organising the games and overseeing everything.
It’s going to be really fascinating to see the two of them back in Season 2, and I’m pretty sure they’ll play important parts in the second season.
