M3GAN Expected To Break Even In Its Opening Weekend

M3GAN has been released almost all over the world, and people are already going to the cinemas in droves to witness the horror of the creepy doll for themselves! It’s actually been revealed that the movie has been performing so well with audiences that it might end up breaking even in its opening weekend!

That’s a huge achievement for the movie, and it really seems as though people have loved this latest horror film from Blumhouse Productions. According to Variety, the movie will make its $12 million budget and possibly more back during its opening weekend.

According to the outlet, projections estimate the movie will make between $17 to $20 million from 3,400 North American theatres. While the film’s expected to lose the box office battle to Avatar: The Way of Water, a $17 or even $20 million haul is impressive for a January release.

This is something that Blumhouse Productions has really excelled at over the years. They make movies for relatively small budgets and end up making huge profits back on them.

As far as Blumhouse movies are concerned, $12 million is actually quite a big budget. They tend to make movies for even less money.

It does seem as though horror is a genre where this sort of approach works. It seems as though, over the years, Hollywood studios have stopped making mid-budget movies.

They just don’t make movies for $20 to $40 million anymore. They would rather spend a lot more money on big blockbusters.

However, Blumhouse has proven time and time again that there is another way to make successful movies. M3GAN seems to be the latest example of them making a movie on a relatively small budget and making their money back in the movie’s first weekend!

The movie’s promotional campaign has been a huge success

One of the main reasons why M3GAN might be predicted to do so well at the box office is because of all of the social media buzz around the movie. The PR team has really done good work with the promotional campaign for the movie, and they’ve managed to get people really excited about watching this film.

They’ve been releasing some pretty creepy trailers and the whole killer-doll thing is bound to get people interested. It’s kind of Annabelle-meets-Child’s Play, and I think it’s something potential moviegoers are into.

The movie is also rated PG-13 in the United States, meaning it will have a much wider audience than most other horror films. I think that this might end up helping the film’s success at the box office.

There’s also the fact that the film has been doing pretty well with the critics. It currently sits with a high 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a lot of critics that I follow and respect have been positive about the movie.

M3GAN is directed by Gerard Johnstone. The story was by James Wan and the script was written by Akela Cooper, who also wrote the script for James Wan’s movie, Malignant. The film stars Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Ronny Chieng, and Brian Jordan Alvarez.
