Joker 2 (Joker: Folie A Deux) is filming at the moment in Newark in the state of New Jersey, and some set photos and footage taken from the movie’s set have been posted on Twitter. These new posts showcase that the film is going to feature a pretty big scene at Arkham Asylum, which I think is exactly where this next movie needs to be set.
The mere fact that Lady Gaga is going to be playing Harley Quinn in the movie. There have been set photos of her in character released, and I think she looks great in the role.
Anyway, it seems as though we’re in for a bit of a treat as DC fans. I loved Todd Phillips’ first Joker movie, and I have a feeling that this sequel will be just as good, if not better, than the first one. He’s an interesting director, and I think he’s really in his element with these Joker films.

It seems as though they are going to be filming scenes in what is Arkham State Hospital. This was actually a recurring location in the first movie. It was the place where Arthur ended up after his on-air rampage in the third act.
In these photos and footage leaked from the set of the sequel, we see the return of Arkham, but this time it’s engulfed in flames. So, it seems as though Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck is going to return to the hospital and set it alight. That’s a very ‘Joker’ thing to do.
Even though I did love the first movie, I didn’t really feel that Arthur Fleck was the Joker. I thought he was an interesting take on the character, but it was more the character’s origins and he doesn’t truly become a version of the iconic DC Comics villain until the very end.
I feel as though this sequel is going to really show us this universe’s version of the Joker, which I’m really excited to see.

The first movie was very well received and Phoenix ended up winning the Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in the film. I think his win was totally deserved, and I do wonder whether he’ll be nominated a second time for his performance in this sequel.
I have no idea, but I actually have a feeling that it might be Lady Gaga who’ll end up stealing the show as Harley Quinn in the movie. She’s a terrific actor, and she’s proven that time after time.
She was wonderful in the likes of A Star Is Born and House Of Gucci. I think I might be one of the very few people who actually enjoyed House Of Gucci, and I think it was all because of her performance in the movie.
As for Arkham Asylum, the location has had a long history in DC Comics, as well as in the movies and TV shows. Batman: The Animated Series featured the asylum many times. There was also a whole Batman video game set in the asylum, which was just brilliant.
I’m looking forward to seeing what they end up doing with the iconic Batman setting in this upcoming Joker movie.
