It’s been revealed that the James Bond movies will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures outside of the United States, which is an interesting new deal that MGM Studios has struck with the movie studio. This news was revealed via a statement which was released to the press (via ComicBook.com).

This new deal between MGM Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures is part of a multi-year deal for distribution rights outside of the United States. It won’t just be the James Bond movies included as part of this deal, but all future MGM Studios movies.

The last James Bond movie was No Time To Die which was released in December 2021 and ever since that movie was released, people have been wondering which actor will take over the iconic role from Daniel Craig. There have been a bunch of names mentioned, but still, no official news has been released on that front.

Going back to the deal that was struck between Warner Bros and MGM Studios. It was also revealed that movies such as Creed III would be under the Warner Bros banner in terms of distribution outside of the US. This deal also means that Warner Bros Discovery will see some revenue from the release of these upcoming 007 movies.

That said, this new deal between the two studios will only start after the 26th James Bond movie has been released. That film will still be distributed by Universe Pictures worldwide.

So, that means that the first James Bond movie to be distributed outside the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures will be the 27th Bond film. It’ll be interesting to see what sort of state the franchise is by that time.

The James Bond franchise is now technically part of Amazon after they acquired MGM Studios and, therefore, the rights to all the movies they’ve ever made and all the franchises they own. Those franchises include James Bond and The Lord Of The Rings movies.

Amazon acquired MGM Studios for $8.5 billion and now owns one of the oldest movie studios in Hollywood history. Is this a good or a bad thing? Only time will tell.

As for who’ll be playing James Bond next, producer Barbara Brocolli revealed in an interview with Deadline that “Nobody’s in the running.” She then added:

We’re working out where to go with him, we’re talking that through. There isn’t a script and we can’t come up with one until we decide how we’re going to approach the next film because, really, it’s a reinvention of Bond. We’re reinventing who he is and that takes time. I’d say that filming is at least two years away.

So, who will play James Bond next remains to be seen. However, there’s a lot of hype surrounding the role and people are really desperate to know who the next 007 will be.
