It’s being reported that Henry Cavill is currently in talks to star in the upcoming Hobbs And Shaw 2 movie, which would make a lot of sense, and I think there are a lot of fans of the actor out there who would love to see him turn up in the movie.
This report comes to us via Giant Freakin Robot. The upcoming Hobbs And Shaw movie is technically still in development. However, we haven’t heard much about it over the past few months.
What we do know is that the second film will star Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. It’s supposedly being written by Chris Morgan, who’s also producing the movie alongside Hiram Garcia.
There’s no word yet on when the movie might be released and who might direct the film. However, this news seems to indicate that things are happening on the movie, which I think is very good news.
This news comes hot off the heels of the reports that Dwayne Johnson won’t be playing Black Adam for a while, so he and his production company, Seven Bucks Productions, might be looking at making Hobbs And Shaw 2 their next project.

Cavill and Dwayne Johnson seem to have a pretty good working relationship. Johnson convinced Warner Bros. Pictures to bring Cavill back as Superman in Black Adam. Cavill’s Superman cameo took place in the movie’s mid-credits scene.
After the movie was released, Cavill revealed that he would return as Superman in multiple DC movies. However, a few days after he made that announcement, James Gunn and Peter Safran were appointed as the new co-CEOs of DC Studios.
James Gunn revealed that Henry Cavill wouldn’t return as Superman in the DC Universe. It also seems as though we’re not going to get to see Johnson return as Black Adam in the DC Universe either.

Cavill also left The Witcher, which means that after Season 3, the actor won’t be playing Geralt Of Rivia anymore. Netflix then announced that Liam Hemsworth would be playing the character moving forward.
However, it’s not all bad news for Cavill. It was then revealed that he would be starring and producing a Warhammer 40K series for Amazon Prime Video. That’s going to be a pretty huge project, and I think that Cavill might have left The Witcher to focus on that project.
He’s made it clear that he’s a huge Warhammer fan, and it looks like Amazon wants to turn the IP into a huge cinematic and TV property for them. Cavill will be a vital part of that.
As for Hobbs And Shaw 2, I do believe that conversations are ongoing, but it sounds as though nothing’s been signed officially yet. We’re going to have to wait and see what happens.
I do actually think that Cavill would fit very well into that universe. He would make a good villain! Cavill’s performance in Mission: Impossible – Fallout proved that he could be an incredible bad guy!
