First Look At Harrison Ford On Captain America 4 Set Revealed

Set pictures on filming Marvel’s Captain America: New World Order reveals Harrison Ford as General Thaddeus Ross, with Tim Blake Nelson reprising his role as Dr. Samuel Sterns.

Not long ago, we reported that Liv Tyler was recently seen on the set of the latest Captain America 4, reprising her role as Betty Ross from The Incredible Hulk (2008). She was not alone, as there were also shots of Anthony Mackie in the exact location as well, returning as Sam Wilson, aka Captain America.

The appearance of Harrison Ford and Tim Blake Nelson wasn’t a surprise. It was announced back in September 2022 that Blake Nelson will be coming back for the film, which did get some fans excited since it was a long time coming. A month after that, it was announced that Ford would be joining the production.

Just Jared recently posted images of Harrison Ford and Tim Blake Nelson on set.

Ford still looks like his usual self. This is a bit strange because we were kind of expecting that he might have a moustache since the late William Hurt always had them for General Ross. It was pretty much a signature style for him as a character, including the comics. Any chances they’ll reverse-Cavill that and put a CGI ‘tache on Ford?

Quite unlikely.

I was kind of surprised to see Blake Nelson that his character hasn’t transformed yet into The Leader. Or maybe they are saving that for closed doors since The Leader’s large head might require some CGI work.

In The Incredible Hulk, it was shown that Hulk’s synthesised blood dripped on Dr. Stern’s head injury, which caused it to be absorbed by his brain. But you will notice that, in the circulating photo, his hands were painted green. In other words, it does seem that he was transforming. It’s also possible that Dr. Stern was able to control his transformation since he was trying to help Bruce Banner to stop turning into the Hulk.

Liv Tyler and Tim Blake Nelson are reprising their roles from the one and only Hulk film in the MCU. I’m almost expecting Mark Ruffalo to show up as Bruce Banner for this. I know some fans are hoping Edward Norton would show up somehow, even as a Hulk variant, but I doubt that that will happen.

Ruffalo could still show up in the film; we don’t know. You know how Marvel can be so secretive. Also, we have to remember this is Sam Wilson’s Captain America movie. The first one is where Anthony Mackie’s Wilson takes on the role after fully accepting it in Disney Plus’ Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Personally, I think Mackie is already carrying such a burden of filling Evans’ shoes. Even now, fans are divided in their take on the new Cap. Seems like the movie is hyping Hulk up more than Captain America is in a Captain America movie.

Then again, this is the MCU. The studio includes at least one or two other superheroes or more who may or may not be as popular as the main protagonist but are needed to carry the story forward. It re-emphasizes that everything is connected.

And even Chris Evans’ Captain America films look more like a preview of the Avengers movies that followed. So, a possible team-up of Cap and Hulk could really end up smashing at the box office.

Speaking of previews, these recent photos can actually be previews for the movie that is to come. Now we know they are giving a nod to the Hulk movie that starred Norton. Norton may have portrayed the role splendidly, but the MCU’s Hulk is still Ruffalo.

But for whatever Marvel Studios is planning for the future of the MCU, through the multiverse narrative, they really can have Norton come over as a Hulk variant. In a similar way, they already did it with the 3 Spideys of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Maybe Norton could eventually be in Battleworld?

Who knows?

Phase 5 had a shaky start with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania but the studio still has its eyes on the prize. And I did honestly enjoy watching that movie despite what some people are saying. Hopefully, Phases 5 and 6 would have more solidly landed punches because, as fans, we are always ready for their stories to come for more years.
