Fantastic Four Movie Release Date Revealed By Marvel

Fantastic-Four-Movie-Release-Date-Revealed-By-Marvel

Marvel Studios has revealed when the upcoming MCU Fantastic Four movie’s release date, and we’re not going to be waiting for all that long before we get to watch the film in cinemas.

It was revealed during Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con panel that the upcoming Fantastic Four movie will be released on November 8th, 2024.

That actually isn’t that far off, and the movie still has no official cast nor director attached to it.

The movie was going to be helmed by Spider-Man director, Jon Watts.

However, Watts opted to leave the project after he was announced as the movie’s director during Disney’s Investors Day presentation back in 2020.

Marvel President, Kevin Feige, revealed that the movie would be the first film to be released in Phase 6.

It’s going to be followed up by two Avengers movies, called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Yes, Secret Wars is coming to the MCU!

However, Feige didn’t announce a cast for the Fantastic Four movie, and he didn’t announce a director.

I’m of the belief that he and Marvel is saving that announcement for D23, but we’re going to have to wait and see.

The fact that the movie’s going to be coming out in 2024 means that they should get started on production in late 2022, or early 2023.

At least, that’s what I would expect them to do since they’re already working on most of the films in Phase 5.

As far as why Jon Watts left the project, we detailed his reasonings in our exclusive article on the matter.

To cut a rather long article short (but, please, do go and read it), Watts and Marvel’s visions for the movie just didn’t align.

Watts was keen on doing an origins story and wanted to cast younger actors in the roles.

He basically wanted complete newcomers, and Marvel wanted more established and slightly older actors.

The studio wanted to have an already established Fantastic Four team in the movie.

Marvel and Feige weren’t too keen on the idea of having another Fantastic Four origins story.
