UPDATE: We’ve just been informed by Warner Bros. Pictures’ European press team that Ezra Miller will be doing ‘limited’ press for the upcoming The Flash movie, thus confirming our original report.

It’s been revealed to us that The Flash movie’s main star, Ezra Miller, will not be doing too much promotion for the upcoming DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures movie. This comes after much controversy surrounding the actor due to his odd and worrying public behaviour.

Before I get into what I was told about how Warner Bros. Pictures is thinking of approaching the film’s promotional campaign, I wanted to give a lot of credit to Syl Abdul. He was the first person I saw to reveal that Warner Bros is considering limiting Miller’s time promoting the film. You can check out his video on the matter here.

Ezra Miller won’t be doing too many interviews for The Flash

However, I wanted a little bit more information about what’s going on with The Flash movie, and given that we’ve already been in contact with PRs in relation to how the press will be involved in the movie’s promotional campaign – i.e. interviews and press screenings – I thought it might be good for all of us to know what the plan is.

Well, we reached out to Warner Bros’ PR team and asked what they were planning, and we got the usual ‘nothing’ answer. However, we kept on pressing, and that’s when it was revealed to us that there wouldn’t be an opportunity to interview Miller for the movie. That’s not usual, especially not for Small Screen. We very rarely get access to big Hollywood talent. However, I then asked some of my old colleagues from my time working for media outlets in London and the rest of the United Kingdom.

That was when it was revealed to me that even the most prominent media outlets had been told that Miller was going to be “off the table” as far as interviews were concerned. One former colleague told me that very few people were going to get to talk to Miller before the movie was released and that the brunt of the promotional interviews were going to feature the movie’s other actors, such as Michael Shannon, Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Kiersey Clemons, Ron Livingston and Sasha Calle.

I was informed that Calle, Shannon, Affleck and Keaton would be doing most of the primary interviews. We’ve also heard that many people might get to interview Saoirse-Monica Jackson for the movie. This will be the first time a Hollywood movie doesn’t have its lead star promote the movie before its worldwide release. However, given all of the controversies surrounding Miller, it’s probably the best thing for Warner Bros. Pictures to do.

Very controlled and scripted interviews for Ezra

However, I feel that Miller might do one or two very controlled and scripted interviews beforehand. He might do something for Good Morning America, and then that’s it, and I’m sure that they won’t be allowed to ask him about all the controversies he’s been involved with over the past few months.
