This just in everyone! Ezra Miller has apologised for their recent behaviour and is seeking professional help. We’re pretty sure that this is a last-ditch effort to save Warner Bros. Pictures’ DC Films Flash movie! Let us explain why.

So, Ezra Miller’s been in the news a lot recently, and when I saw ‘a lot’, I really do mean, a lot! He’s been in the news for all sorts of stuff such as theft, grooming and assault. It’s been getting so bad that people have been worrying about the movie they’ll going to be starring in, The Flash.

On The Small Screen Podcast, for instance, we talked at length about The Flash movie and the whole Ezra Miller situation. You can go and listen to the most recent episode of the podcast in which we talked about Ezra and what’s going to happen to The Flash movie.

But what did Ezra Miller say exactly in their ‘apology’. Let’s go over it together. The Flash star Ezra Miller says they are seeking treatment for “complex mental health problems.”

They revealed this in a statement submitted to Diverse (via Vareity). This is the first time that Miller has broken their silence about the disturbing behaviour they have shown in recent years.

Miller is now facing a string of legal cases and allegations of abuse. Here’s what Miller had to say in the statement:

Having recently gone through a period of severe crisis, I now realize I have complex mental health issues and have started ongoing treatment. I want to apologize to everyone for being bothered and upset by my previous behaviour. I am committed to doing the work necessary to return to a healthy, safe and productive phase in my life.

So, will this apology have any effect on The Flash movie? Has the movie now been saved thanks to their recent statement? Well, the answer is probably yes.

This has been going on for so long now, and we hadn’t heard a peep out of Miller and their representation until now. Also, if you’re to really look at what Miller said in the statement, it does seem as though they have seen the errors in their recent behaviour.

The fact that Miller has already started treatment is good news. However, the fact that this has taken so long is rather suspicious. I do wonder whether the actor has been pushed into taking this action by Warner Bros Discovery.

We’ve been hearing all sorts of rumours and reports about The Flash movie being brilliant. Warner Bros Discovery’s CEO, David Zaslav, himself said in the Q2 Earnings Call that he’d seen a screening of the movie and it was brilliant.

So, it sounds as though Miller and director Andy Mushietti have made an incredible superhero movie together. There had been reports that Warner Bros was thinking of removing Miller from the film entirely.

Did Warner Bros ever think of replacing Ezra Miller with Grant Gustin?

However, given the fact that they are in almost every scene in the movie and also play multiple characters in the film would have made it nigh on impossible to have Miller replaced by another actor. There were calls from the fans to have Miller be replaced by The CW’s Flash star, Grant Gustin.

Honestly, I would have liked to have seen that, but I do think it would have been far too costly to do. I also think the movie would have just looked odd with all the CGI changes it would have taken to have Grant replace Miller in the movie.

We’ve been hearing for quite some time now that Warner Bros Discovery was adamant about having the movie released the way it is. They didn’t want to change anything to do with the movie because they are really confident in it.

It seems as though what we were being told was actually the case, and Warner Bros. Pictures can now get the PR train on this Flash movie moving. I actually think this is exactly what Warner Bros wanted to happen.

Warner Bros will be hoping that they can just release The Flash movie

They’ll now be hoping that they can move on and just get the movie released in cinemas. I actually have an inkling that the film will do really well after all of this Miller controversy.

People will want to see the movie because they’ve heard about all the stuff that Miller’s been doing in the news. People are naturally curious, and they’ll want to see what all the noise was about.

What do you make of this news? Do you think Ezra Miller was forced to apologise by Warner Bros Discovery so that they can release The Flash movie in cinemas and get the movie’s PR tour underway? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
