DC Studios Might Recast Justice League Actors

dc-studios-recast-justice-league-actors

It’s being reported that DC Studios’ new heads, James Gunn and Peter Safran, are toying with the possibility of recasting the Justice League actors for future projects. This means that the likes of Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Gal Gadot and Ray Fisher could all be recast, which is something that I’m sure many DC fans will not like the sound of.

There have already been reports that Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck’s cameos in The Flash and Aquaman 2 might have been cut. So, it certainly sounds as though Gunn and Safran are wasting no time in getting things going on their plans for the DC Universe, but I have a feeling that they’re going to face a lot of backlash with these rather rash decisions.

This report comes to us via The Hollywood Reporter, and it seems there’s going to be a huge shakeup over at DC Studios. In their article, THR noted that this plan from the studio “could entail a truly fresh start and [have] no baggage from any previous regimes”, which shepherded these superheroic actors into the DCU. Moreover, their sources suggested that the DCU might be looking to establish its own brain trust to help foster a proper interconnected narrative universe for its content.

They actually revealed that Peter Safran, the co-CEO of DC Studios, has already been meeting with people about this reported ‘brain trust’. So, it seems as though things are moving really quickly over at DC Studios. THR’s article adds that the former leadership, which was headed up by Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, was hoping to get one more Synderverse team-up off the ground. However, James Gunn and Peter Safran are reportedly not so keen on this idea, and it sounds as though they have stopped those plans from moving forward.

Could Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck stay on?

So, for all of those of you who are still holding out hope for Henry Cavil and Ben Affleck’s returns as Superman and Batman respectively, I wouldn’t hold your breath. It sounds as though their time has officially come to an end. You can blame James Gun and Peter Safran for this new development. There were plans to make a second Man Of Steel movie, and it seems as though there were plans to make another Batman movie with Ben Affleck in the lead; however, they have been quashed.

We’re going to have to wait and see what happens because nothing official has been announced yet. However, the signs aren’t looking very good.
