Ben Affleck Batman Cameo In Aquaman 2 Might Be Cut

It’s being reported that the Ben Affleck Batman cameo in Aquaman 2 (Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom) might have been cut from the film’s theatrical release, which would be a huge bummer! This report comes to us via KC Walsh on Twitter, claiming that the movie’s recent screening didn’t feature Affleck’s cameo as Batman. However, there might be a reasonable answer as to why the recent screening didn’t feature Affleck’s Dark Knight.

It was revealed not too long ago by Jason Momoa that Affleck had filmed scenes in Aquaman 2 as Batman, and that got fans very excited to see the movie’s final cut. Since then, we heard reports that Affleck might be coming back as Batman in the DCU. There were even some reports suggesting that the actor will be playing Batman in another standalone movie. I also heard rumours that Warner Bros had gotten the ball rolling on a Ben Affleck Batman trilogy.

KC Walsh also revealed that Amber Heard’s role as Mera had been unchanged in the movie, and he added that Willem Dafoe’s Vulko was also not featured at all. When a fan pointed out that Momoa earlier confirmed that Affleck would star in the sequel, Walsh reiterated that “he [Affleck] wasn’t in the movie” at this time.

When another fan asked whether Warner Bros has opted to omit Affleck’s return in the test screening as a surprise for the audience, Walsh noted that the studio “cut a major scene” that made Bruce Wayne’s scene “no longer necessary”. Here’s what he had to say on the matter:

Without spoiling anything I’ll just say they cut a major scene and it appears the Bruce Wayne scene is no longer necessary.

Could they be saving Bruce Wayne as a surprise for the fans?

All of this was backed up by fellow Twitter scooper, MyTimeToShineHello. They added that “there was no Bruce [Wayne] in it all”. Here’s what they had to say on the matter:

A little update: There was no Bruce in it at all and they changed stuff around so he is no longer necessary to the plot.

So, it seems as though there is no Bruce Wayne in the movie’s test screenings. However, I have to say that this doesn’t mean that they’ve cut Ben Affleck from the movie entirely. I have hope, and I think that you should do too.
