Should Clarkson feel any “shame” about his article in The Sun…?

I also have to mention the fact that there’s been a lot of controversy surrounding Jeremy Clarkson himself of late. I will go into some of that here, but not all of it. I’m basically only going to mention the stuff that’s relevant to Clarkson’s Farm and its continuation on Prime Video.

So, I’m sure you all know what happened by now, but just in case you’ve been living under a rock for the last few months, I’ll go over what happened again, very briefly. Clarkson wrote an article for The Sun. It was an opinion piece, and it was all about Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.

In this opinion piece, Clarksons referenced the infamous scene in Game Of Thrones in which Cersei Lannister is paraded through the streets, naked, whilst a woman is yelling “shame” behind her, and the people of the city are throwing God knows what at her.

It was a pretty divisive scene at the time, and it was actually pretty heavily criticised, yet it’s also gone down in pop culture history as one of the most memorable TV scenes of all time. So, what Clarkson did in his article was put Meghan in Cersei’s place.

He claimed that he would love to see Meghan paraded through the streets of the United Kingdom naked while people throw stuff at her. I’m going to just say “stuff” here because I don’t want to use the word that Clarkson actually used in his article and bring up that image again.

Needless to say, people around the world were appalled by Clarkson’s article, and it basically torpedoed his career. Amazon took a while, but they eventually decided to part ways with Jeremy following that article. It was reported that they would not be renewing his contract after 2024, thus ending his two very popular Prime Video shows: The Grand Tour and Clarkson’s Farm.

This means that we’re only going to get the next four Grand Tour specials and Clarkson’s Farm Season 3 will be the show’s final season, which is a shame because Jeremy isn’t the only person involved in those shows. You’ve got all the people that work with him on them, his co-presenters, the crew and all the people that edit and research the shows.

That said, there have been reports (via Deadline) that Amazon is looking at renewing Clarkon’s Farm for a fourth season, which suggests that they were waiting for this whole thing to blow over and then quietly give Clarkson another season of his farming show.

As for Clarkson’s Farm, you’ve also got the likes of Kaleb Cooper, who’s his biggest help on the farm. He’s become something of a celebrity himself since the start of the show. Anyway, that’s everything that’s been going on between Jeremy Clarkson and Amazon.

So, the good news is that there will be a third season of Clarkson’s Farm, and they are filming it as we speak! Jeremy, Kaleb and Lisa announced that the third season was happening. They took to social media to reveal that Amazon wants a third season. The video started with Kaleb and Lisa looking at Jeremy driving a tractor in a field and not driving in a straight line, which is typical for the former Top Gear presenter. Clarkson then gets out of the tractor and reveals that the third season has been renewed.

Here’s what he had to say about the whole thing in the video they posted online:

I’m genuinely thrilled that we are doing a third season of Clarkson’s Farm. I’ve had some great new ideas, all of which have made Charlie, Lisa and Kaleb deeply unhappy.

Prime Video has promised that we’ll get to see farming advisor Kaleb Cooper, Clarkson’s wife Lisa, Gerald and Cheerful Charlie back on the farm in the third season. However, they also promised that “new characters” will be involved in season 3 as Clarkson pursues his farming dream and taps into 513 acres of land on Diddly Squat, including woodlands and lakes, which have yet to be touched.

Here’s what Kaleb Cooper had to say about the third season being renewed:

I’m over the moon to be taking part again. Well, they do say third time’s a charm! Maybe this will be the series that Jeremy finally starts taking advice from a real farmer!

Lisa Hogan then added the following:

There is a whole lot to catch up on here at Diddly Squat – series 2 is on its way so not long to wait for you to see how much the hard work and love of farming continues. It’s just grand to be already filming series 3.

So, what about the release date? When will Clarkson’s Farm Season 3 will be released on Prime Video? That’s why you’ve clicked on this article. Well, the honest answer is, we don’t know.

However, we have been asking around for a release date, and even though Amazon has been keeping very quiet about the whole thing, Clarkson’s team did come back to us with a response (of sorts). They said the following:

Jeremy, Kaleb, Lisa and co. are working hard on the third season. It’s being filmed right now, but there’s no  release date yet. More information will be revealed in due course.

They then added to keep a close eye on Jeremy’s, Kaleb’s and Prime Video’s social media accounts, which is where they tend to release any new information about the show. I’ve checked, and so far, there’s not much on there about the third season. So, I suppose the best we can do is try and figure out when the third season might be released.

I have a feeling that it won’t be released on Prime Video until early 2024. My best guess would be February 2024. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up being released earlier than that.

Will there be more seasons of Clarkson’s Farm after Season 3?

As for future seasons of the show beyond Season 3, it’s looking like the third season will be the show’s final one, which is such a shame.

So, all of this is to say that we should be looking forward to watching the third and final season of what I believe to be quite an important show. British farmers have loved it. Jeremy’s loved making it, and we’ve loved watching it.

Clarkson’s Farm Season 3 will be available to stream on Prime Video either towards the end of 2023 0r sometime in 2024.

I love the show. And not particularly fond of Markle, so: 1) I didn’t know about the article and 2). I just don’t care. Hopefully, prime will change their mind and give us a season 4. Jeremy is an idiot, but fun to watch. Loved him on Top Gear years ago and still do.

  2. David Johnso

If Amazon don’t want Jetemy for season 4 …. then he should find another company to produce this incredibly popular series.
All this fuss about a nobody like Megan is sickening!

  3. Ralph Foweraker

Clarkson’s Farm is a brilliant show. It is very watchable and really let’s us see what type of issues and red tape Farmers face. It will be a great shame if it is cancelled after season 3. Let’s hope Amazon see sense and go forward with further seasons.

I have absolutely loved this, not stopped laughing whilst also beginning to understand more about the struggles of our farmers. I’ve binged watch as I was late to the picnic, and now I’ve also started growing veg in my tiny garden. I’m aghast at the council in his area who seem to revel in his victimisation of anything he plans to help the local community. Many farmers are over the moon at his attempt to highlight their struggles and give them a leading light. There is nothing else on Amazon that’s worth watching so if they move sides I would happily follow. Keep up the good work JC and team!

no season 4 then no amazon prime for me I will cancel it. only got it for grand tour and Clarkson farm

  5. Richard John Myers

Clarksons farm is the best thing on tv right now who gives a dam about Megan merkle sorry but Amazon you are crazy if you let Jeremy go and if you do then Jeremy I’m sure someone else will take you on and film season4 Amazon your clowns

Megan who. What a lot of fuss over a American nobody. Clarkson is brilliant and amazon should grow a pair and give us the paying public what we want & pay for which is more, more ,more , CLARKSON.

  7. Sally A Hobbs

Amazon would be stupid to cancel one of its most watched shows , Amazon’s loss will be another TV channels gain as I can’t see it not carrying on in some format

Clarksons Farm should continue and will with someone else so Amazon will be the looser, like many i never understood farming and what they have to deal with, hes taught the reality of this livelyhood and increased an interest in farming generally, which has been helping the industry and its many livelyhoods. Yes i dont agree with Clarksons comments about Megan Markle, but the Newspapers are responsible for posting it, certain UK Tabloids Press papers are clearly racist and bullying Megan and Harry constantly and that part of british makes me asshamed, they dont like that they left and cant get a story, so they then create one themselves.

  9. Glynis Noden

Absolutely brilliant show. Done more for farming than anything else for decades. Amazon should think again. What he said was nothing to do with this show.
Amazon knew that Jeremy was outspoken when they took him on so what is the big deal.
Stand alone Amazon and think of your viewers, of which there are millions, who will be bitterly disappointed to see the end of such a popular programme as well as the characters involved.
Good luck Jeremy and all the team. Please come back for season 4 and many more.

This is my favorite show. I love everything about it. I laugh, I get exasperated by the stupid town council, I learn a lot, it’s just fun and fascinating!
Jeremy can write whatever he wants to! God bless Harry and Megan and the truly moronic actor here is Amazon. Grow up you cancel culture morons!

I personally am not a fan of Megan or Harry. I knew about the article and couldn’t care! Jeremy always speaks his mind and to be honest thats a quality!!! In these times people aren’t able to be themselves! I’ve watched Clarkson since I was a young kid! He’s never changed one bit!!! At first I was gutted when BBC fired him but now it’s been more of a good thing. People take offence to him and his comments, but that’s Clarkson! You don’t like it go somewhere else? We live in a snowflake world where celebrities are chocked up not being able to express themselves! Go for it Clarkson!!

  12. Lora

It’s clear Amazon chooses what programs to support based on their personal opinions, not on their viewers. Jeremy is how Jeremy is and that’s why we love him. My family and I really enjoyed the series and would like to see it continue. For the record I watched the episode of “Game of Thrones” he referenced with Cercie and he’s dead-on about Markle, she’s a loud mouthed gold digger. (Those were the kindest words I could muster.) As a matter of fact, everyone I know feels that way about her. Leave Jeremy alone. You voiced your opinion and you’re still being published even though not everyone agrees with you. He should be able to voice his, as well.

  13. Mrs Sylvia Tucker

Clarkson Farm gives an insight into farming that has really opened my eyes to the problems they face. And what happened to freedom of speech. If you have to punish anyone, what about those who published it? They must agree.

  14. Jaco Swanepoel

Love this show. If Amazon don’t want to renew it go somewhere else. Just wich we don’t have to wait to long for season 3

  15. Katie kirk

Amazon will certainly be shooting themselves in the foot if they cancel Clarkson, two of the best shows on Prime. The farm and all the people who take part are great fun and we see farming for what it is and the bureaucracy farmers have to deal with. If prime don’t continue with the shows I’m sure another tv company will.

  16. Sarah Debree

I love this show and hope that Amazon changes its mind about a forth or more seasons. Clarkson has strong opinions and isn’t afraid to speak them, and Amazon had to know that from the start. Might be time to stop watching Amazon. But not until after the 3rd season airs! LOL!

  17. Anonymous

We are excited about season 3 of Jeremy’s Farm. We are watching the season 2 on Prime but if they sign with Netflix that is also great. It doesn’t matter were they show it as long as they do. And maybe they will continue with season 4….

  18. Anonymous

We love Jeremy in ALL the shows he is on. Prime, stop listening to the politics and instead listen to your viewers. Keep Jeremy on please. If not, I (and am sure many many others)will definitely be cancelling Prime after Clarksons Farm Season 3 airs.

  19. Geoffrey Bown

The BBC has had to alter it’s stance over Gary Linekers tweets, as they were also a personal opinion, freedom of speech has always been valued in great Britain and should not be suppressed in any way. If a person is deeply upset by what someone says about them there are civil laws for them to seek legal redress.
In my personal opinion amazon are not acting in a sensible mature manner and like the beeb rethink it’s position. We do or are supposed to be living in a democratic society.

  20. Vanessa Smith

Fantastic programme, highlighting the issues farmer have, especially with councils when they need to diversify. I shall also cancel once Season 3 has been aired. Let’s hope its not the end of Diddly Squat on TV
