Could The Batman And Future DC Comics Video Games Be About To Become Xbox Exclusives?

Microsoft is rumoured to be planning on buying Warner Bros. Games which means the Batman and DC Comics video games could become Xbox exclusives.

These rumours do come from Twitter and it seems as though they were started by a comic book YouTuber called Slcmof.

He’s been posting quite a few videos over the past months on the upcoming Batman and DC Comics video games.

So far, we’ve heard next to nothing about what’s coming from Warner Bros. Games.

It’s believed that they are working on a bunch of new DC Comics properties which is exciting.

However, we still don’t know for sure what they are making behind the scenes.

I’ve heard people claim that Warner Bros. Montreal is making another Batman Arkham video game.

The rumours are that the game will be called Batman: Capture The Knight.

I both like and dislike that video game title.

I like it because it sounds like people might be after Batman, and it’s always fun to play Batman on the run.

However, I also think the title is pretty corny and I don’t like the idea of a Batman game which features little detective work.

The title just makes me think it’ll be mainly about evading people.

However, you might have to work out a mystery or crime for which you (Batman) has been framed.

That sounds like a fun game to me.

There are also rumours that Rocksteady Studios is working on another DC Comics property.

I’ve heard everything from Superman, Justice League to the Suicide Squad.

I think it would be really fun to see a Suicide Squad game from Rocksteady.

They are the studio that gave us the Batman Arkham trilogy, so I say let them do what they want.

However, Slcmof recently posted on Twitter that he thinks Microsoft might be preparing a bid to buy Warner Bros. Games.

If this is indeed the case, then this could mean that the future Batman and DC Comics video games might be Xbox exclusives.

This would be a huge coup for Microsoft and Xbox, but it would be terrible for gamers who don’t own an Xbox.

Microsoft is about to launch their new console, so far called the Xbox Series X.

Imagine how incredible it would be if they announce that it’s being launched with a new Batman or DC Comics video game.

If they make these future DC Comics titles Xbox exclusives, then I would expect to see a lot of people jump from their PlayStations to the latest Xbox.

Over the years, we’ve seen how important console exclusives are for video games consoles.

One of the reasons why the PS4 did so well was because of all the exclusives it had.

You have all of Naughty Dog’s games only available on PlayStation 4.

The recent Spider-Man video game was a PS4 exclusive.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter which console is the most powerful.

What really matters are the games.

That’s why a video game console like the Nintendo Switch has done so well, despite being a much less powerful machine than the PS4 and Xbox One.

It has all of Nintendo’s incredible games on it (The Legend of Zelda: Breathe of the Wild, the Mario and Pokemon games and so on).

Games is so important for consoles and this is why I think a company like Microsoft might be looking at buying Warner Bros. Games.

They’ve already shown that they are not against buying other video game companies.

Microsoft has bought the likes Compulsion Games (We Happy Few), InXile Entertainment (Wasteland), Ninja Theory (Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice), Obsidian Entertainment (The Outer Worlds), and Playground Games (Forza Horizon).

And in 2019, they bought Double Fine Productions (Psychonauts).

In 2014, Microsoft bought the company behind Minecraft, Mojang, for $2.5 billion.

They have shown time and time again that they like to buy studios, and Warner Bros. Games might like the idea of being owned by Microsoft.

It seems as though they buy a lot of studios and let them get on with their work.

They give them the time, space and resources to make what they want to make and release the games when they’re ready to be released (usually).

There have been some hiccups along the way, but it now looks like Microsoft is really in a position to show off its exclusive content.

I am pretty sure they would love to add the Batman and DC Comics games to their list of exclusive titles.

Yes, gamers would be mad that they’ll have to go out and purchase an Xbox to play these new DC Comics games.

I think fans wouldn’t be overly happy about the DC Comics video games being Xbox exclusives

However, the fact of the matter is that they will buy them just so they can play the latest DC Comics games.

The games themselves might end up benefitting from only coming to one platform.

It means that companies like Warner Bros. Montreal and Rocksteady would only have to develop their games for one console.

They would be given more time and money to make sure their games are as good as they possibly can be.

What do you think?

Do you think Microsoft should or will buy Warner Bros. Games?

If so, would that benefit the DC Comics video games moving forward?
