It’s been revealed that Zack Snyder actually pitched a China-based Atom movie that would have been a spin-off from his Justice League film.

This news was first revealed by Zack himself during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

In the interview, the director breaks down the ending of his huge hit, Justice League.

The movie was released on March 18th, and it’s been doing incredible numbers the world over ever since.

Anyway, back to the interview.

During this interview, Zack opened up about the time he pitched to WarnerMedia an Atom/Ryan Choi-centered film starring Zheng Kai.

This would have been an incredibly smart thing to do because it would have opened up the DCEU to the Chinese market.

The DC Comics movies have been struggling somewhat in China, and this might have helped.

Here’s what Zack Snyder had to say on the matter:

I had been pitching Warners to do an Atom movie with him in China, like a Chinese-cast superhero movie. That was my goal.

Ryan Choi was played by Zheng Kai in Zack Snyder’s Justice League and he was really good in the movie.

Thinking back to it, it did seem as though there was more to come from this character.

Snyder was evidently teeing up the possibility of Choi getting his own spin-off film, which would have been great.

However, it seems as though WarnerMedia and Warner Bros. Pictures weren’t so enamoured with the idea.

What a surprise.

However, should someone step in and opt to #RestoreTheSnyderVerse, then we might end up getting this Atom movie.
