Wonder Woman 3 Moving Forward At Warner Bros

Wonder Woman 3 is FINALLY moving ahead over at Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Films! This has been a long time coming, and it seems as though the movie’s script has been finished, at least, according to Patty Jenkins herself. Jenkins is going to be writing and directing this third movie. There had been rumours that Warner Bros. Pictures might not want to move forward with this upcoming movie. However, it seems as though they are doing it after all.

This news comes to us via MovieWeb, and I’m actually happy to hear that we’re going to be getting another DC Comics movie all about Diana Prince. However, what I will say is that the second movie, Wonder Woman 1984, was pretty darn bad. The film was written and directed by Patty Jenkins, and it was just a mess of a film. It’s a shame because the first film, I believe, is one of the best movies in the DCEU.

It was everything I wanted it to be and more. The second movie was not that. I was expecting to really love it, and I just didn’t. I’m really hoping they are going to make a better movie this time around.

Gal Gadot first played the DC Comics character in 2017 in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. She then got to appear as the character in her own standalone movie and subsequent sequel. Gadot also played the character in Joss Whedon’s Justice League and Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

Now, even though 1984 wasn’t very well received, I don’t think there was ever really a doubt that the third movie wasn’t going to be made. However, we finally have confirmation that Warner Bros is moving forward with the movie. This was revealed by Patty Jenkins herself. She was speaking at the Matera Film Festival, and she revealed that she’s recently finished writing the movie’s script.

Here’s what Jenkins had to say about the upcoming DC Comics movie:

And so, where I said that I was only going to do one, then oh my god, I have to do two. And then, I find myself saying, ‘Oh my god, I’m antsy to do three.’ And so, even now, I say, ‘That’s it’ because I always plan a three-movie arc. There is a story that goes through these three different movies as a whole. But even now, I just wrote last week the final scene of Wonder Woman 3 and I thought, I might be interested to see what happens next. So you’ll never know.

They have asked us to think of ways to do more and it accidentally happens. But you’ll never know. I have a lot of other films that I’m excited to do as well. And I love Gal Gadot so that makes it better too.

So, as it stands, the movie doesn’t have a release date. Warner Bros doesn’t have the movie on its upcoming release schedule, which makes me think that the movie won’t be released until 2025. We’re going to have to wait and see.
