When Will Lupin Season 2 Be Released On Netflix?

Lupin Season 2 Netflix Omar Sy Arsene Lupin

One of the very best shows on Netflix right now is a French show that I really think you should all be watching. The show is called Lupin and it stars the brilliant Omar Sy in the lead, and we’re now trying to work out when Lupin Season 2 will be released on Netflix.

There are a whole load of shows on Netflix at the moment that are all vying for your attention. However, there’s one show that I really think you should watch that just landed on the streaming service. That show is Lupin, and I know that there are many people that are already really looking forward to watching the second season.

The first season, which stars Omar Sy, just landed and it tells the story of Assane Diop. As a teenager, Assane’s dad was accused of a crime he claimed he did not commit. 25 years later, Assane uses the lessons he learned in a french book called Arsène Lupin (Gentleman Burglar) to avenge his father and try to clear his name.

The first season is brilliant and you’ll love it if you’re a fan of anything involving really clever heists. Omar Sy is also a terrific lead as Assane. He’s charming, charismatic, intelligent and just really likeable. He’s one of the main reasons why the show works so well.

It’s created by George Kay and François Uzan and the first episode is directed by Louis Leterrier, who was the director of many of the Transporter movies and The Incredible Hulk. You can actually really see Leterrie’s fingerprints all over this show.

While watching it, I couldn’t stop thinking of Sherlock, which starred Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. It has a similar sort of vibe and Arsène Lupin is as revered in France as Sherlock Holmes is in the UK. He’s a bit different. He’s not a detective, but a thief often dubbed as a “Gentleman thief”. He’s a bit like a much cooler version of Robin Hood.

What I’m very glad to report is that there will be a Season 2 of Lupin. It’s revealed at the very end of the show that Lupin will return in Part 2, which is terrific news. What’s not so certain is when this second season will be released. It’s pretty hard to predict its release date due to the Coronavirus pandemic which has put huge delays on movies and TV shows, especially in places like France.

The lockdown rules are very strict in France, and I don’t think they’ll be able to start filming Season 2 for a while. This means that we’ll have to wait a while for Lupin Season 2. There’s also the fact that Omar Sy’s becoming more and more in demand and his schedule is filling up very quickly.

Why have there been such good French Netflix shows recently?

It was revealed that Omar Sy was cast in the upcoming Jurassic World movie, Jurassic World: Dominion. There have also been rumours that he’s currently in talks to star in an upcoming Marvel Studios movie. So, it seems as though Hollywood is starting to take notice of the French actor, which is really good news because he’s a real talent.

If anything, Lupin is just another feather in Sy’s already impressive cap. Its popularity on Netflix will also mean that the streaming giants will want to get the second season done as quickly as possible, so I’m expecting to see it towards the beginning of 2022.

misleading* But keep giving the author advice on how to write lol

“This article has an extremely misleading title. It’s a very poorly written article and I suggest the author learns to write better”.

Is that what you meant to say? Also, I don’t think the title is EXTREMELY misleading. And the article was written well.

Have your say...
