We Can Be Heroes Sequel In Development At Netflix With Robert Rodriguez Returning

It’s been revealed that Netflix has greenlit a We Can Be Heroes sequel and Robert Rodriguez will be returning to direct. This was revealed in a recent article in The Hollywood Reporter.

You know what? I really, really enjoyed We Can Be Heroes on Netflix. There’s something very special about these Robert Rodriguez action films that are very obviously aimed at kids.

It’s now been revealed that Netflix has given the go-ahead on a sequel, which means that Rodriguez can now get to work on We Can Be Heroes 2, or whatever he decides to call the movie. This film is a sort of continuation from his Spy Kids movies, which I really did adore as a kid.

It seems as though Robert Rodriguez is going to be a very busy guy over the next few months/years. We already knew that he was an executive producer on The Book Of Boba Fett, which is the recently announced spinoff of The Mandalorian. That show will be a miniseries, and I’m pretty sure Rodriguez will end up directing an episode of the Star Wars show.

He was apparently a last-minute addition to the directing team on The Mandalorian Season 2. He did as a favour to his friend Jon Favreau after the original director had to step aside. I’m still not quite sure why. However, it resulted in Rodrguez directing one of the best episodes of Season 2. It was the episode which really showcased how badass Boba Fett is, and I hope he gets to do something with the character in The Book of Boba Fett.
