Then, the show’s creator and director, Hwang Dong-hyuk wrote the following message to the fans of Squid Game.

It took 12 years to bring the first season of Squid Game to life last year. But it took 12 days for Squid Game to become the most popular Netflix series ever. As the writer, director, and producer of Squid Game, a huge shout out to fans around the world. Thank you for watching and loving our show.

The post also revealed that Gi-hun and The Front Man will both be back for Squid Game Season 2.

This means that actors Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun will both be returning for Season 2.

Another possible character returning for Season 2 is the man in the suit with ddakji, otherwise known as The Salesman.

He was played the Gong Yoo in the first season and it seems as though he will be making a return for the second season.

“The man in the suit with ddakji might be back,” Hwang wrote, talking about The Salesman, who recruits Gi-hun to play in the games.

“You’ll also be introduced to Young-hee’s boyfriend Cheoul-su,” the 51-year-old added which suggests that the gigantic doll who massacred participants in Squid Game’s reimagining of Red Light-Green Light could have an equally murderous, robotic boyfriend.
