Scarlett Johansson Looking To Return In 3 More Marvel Movies

Scarlett Johansson Looking To Return In 3 More Marvel Movies

Marvel’s Multiverse Saga may open the door for three more movies with Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. We all know she died when they took the Soul Stone. Also, we know that Natasha Romanoff can never be revived.

However, Phase 4’s ultimate achievement is bringing the multiverse into play for the MCU. It opens infinite possibilities for many of its comic book characters. Even Elisabeth Olsen, in one of her previous interviews, practically mentioned that anything could happen and anyone can come back.

Just through Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Homenot to mention Loki Season 1, variants and versions of different characters, some even in different timelines are on the table. There are, however, certain conditions that affect the dynamics of the characters in the story.

Even in Avengers: Endgame, the MCU showed a particular possibility of how a character who has previously died via the Soul Stone can be alive again. Just that it is a variant taken from a specific timeline. Guardians of the Galaxy’s Gamora is once again alive and kicking. But of course, she isn’t the Gamora who loves Starlord.

This is evident in the coming Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3The Gamora in the upcoming movie is not the actual Gamora whom Starlord loves. Well, not yet. But then, given that she will be experiencing a different set of situations, chances are slim that she will develop feelings for him as well. Again, given that, it may be slim but there is a chance.

Thus with all these possible scenarios, it isn’t impossible for Scarlett Johansson to return to the MCU as Black Widow Natasha Romanoff. In fact, a multiverse version of Black Widow Romanoff is already featured in the animated series What If…?

It is the same series that featured Captain Carter, whom Hayley Atwell also brought into live-action in Doctor Strange 2. So if that animated character appears in live-action for a feature film, then what is stopping Natasha Romanoff from appearing in future movies as well? Nothing.

According to Giant Freakin Robot, Johansson is looking into appearing as Black Widow again for not one, not even two, but three future Marvel movies. Specific movies are still under wraps, but based on what Marvel President Kevin Feige has already announced, chances are the final movies to conclude the Multiverse Saga will be two of those three.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars will complete the Multiverse Saga. As soon as its announcements, fans have been on the lookout for who’s appearing or who’s returning to the MCU.

Knowing the pages of the comic book resource, fans and followers expect the upcoming movies to be epic and possibly supersede the impact that Avengers: Endgame had. Endgame was the chef’s kiss when it came to closing the MCU’s Phase 3. All characters introduced and built up in the MCU were there, and we need not list the greatest moments of the movie to convince you that it was such a superhero team-up masterpiece.

And how does one beat the story where all characters compete against a common big bad? Get all characters and their versions to first fight each other than team up against a common bigger baddie. And that is what I think the Multiverse Saga is right now.

We already know that two, even three, Spider-Men are better than one. As such, imagine if this were true for not only the friendly neighbourhood spider but for all MCU characters. Yes, Johansson’s Black Widow included.

Moreover, if that were indeed to happen, what could be the third movie in which Black Widow can appear? In previous appearances, her introduction was with Iron Man. Then succeeding features include two of the three Captain America movies other than the Avengers movies and finally her own solo feature.

As the character, she can appear in projects that focus on national, political and global security. Such projects are Thunderbolts, and Captain America: New World Order. Her appearance can be as quick as a flashback or classified surveillance footage of one of her previous missions. Again, anything is possible.

It may be a tall order, but it is only Marvel that has the capacity to surpass that epic achievement. Still, as this is what it is, a rumour, take it with a grain of salt that she will truly appear in future movies. But if this were true and she might reprise her Black Widow role, that would be something fans can look forward to as well.
