No spoiler alerts, but these are the shows and films handpicked as worthy. From documentaries to dramatic films, recurring seasons and musical tv, these choices are sure to get you watching and maybe even coming back for more.

Four Good Days (2021)

Starring Mila Kunis and Glenn Close, Four Good Days follows the mother and daughter duo, Molly and Deb, as they attempt to get Molly clean of drugs for good. They attempt to help her detox so she can get a Naloxone injection that will prevent her from getting high for another month.

But first, she has to prove she is clean. Molly is asked to stay clean for four days. This is a gripping film focused on the pain of addiction and all its perils, but at its heart, it’s a family story of resilience and love.

The Strays (2023)

Penned as the poor man’s Get Out by critics, The Strays has been getting a lot of criticism this week. Currently, on the Netflix top ten popular list, this British horror film has been said to have left fans scarred. It follows Cheryl, whose new name is Neve, as she upgrades her life from London to the outskirts with her perfect husband and kids.

She’s a deputy headteacher at a private school, but life is not what it seems. There seem to be people from Neves’ old life haunting her, and we soon find out why. An intriguing, unique contemporary film, bound to get you confused yet intrigued.

Pamela, A Love Story (2023)

It’s Pam Anderson, as you’ve never seen her. Candid and without the glitz. This documentary follows the model’s life highlights from small-town to big-city model and actress as she explains, in her own words, the most memorable parts of her career as well as a first-hand account of the things we may have never known about her career. She dives deep into Tommy Lee and modeling, as well as life’s triumphs and dips.

You, Season 4 (2023)

Starring Gossip Girl’s Penn Badgley, the new series of this popular psychological thriller follows the infamous Joe Goldberg once again as he follows his obsessive crush Marianne to Paris and ends up in the UK. London, to be exact.

Joe is now a university English professor renamed Jonathan Moore, and the rules have been changed. He is, in fact, being stalked by a relentless killer in his new circle. Can he work out who it is before he gets killed?

Girls5Eva (2021)

Categorized  as a musical television comedy, Girls5Eva are “gonna be famous 5eva cos 4ever’s too short!” Starting Busy Phillips and Sara Bareilles, the show follows four girl group members reuniting to search for success again.

The group must solve their internal issues before attempting to take over the music scene once again as middle-aged women with more at stake.

Firefly Lane, Season 2 (2023)

Adapted from the book of the same name, Firefly Lane is back! Tully (Katherine Heigl) and Kate (Sarah Chalke) return as the inseparable friends we know and love. Fans can enjoy new flashbacks to tie the continuing story together for the audience, along with Johnny’s new injuries and his troubles with his new life.

In the last season, we see the two protagonists have ended their relationship, and we start to work out why. This may be a hard one to watch, but we do find out what started the rift between Kate and Tully. This is a strong second season for the show and an enjoyable one at that.
