Huawei Announces New Emerald Green MateBook X Pro Edition
Huawei is launching a new edition of its great MateBook X Pro laptop and it comes in a beautiful new colour.
This laptop will now come in a glorious emerald green colour and it really does look something special.
Before this new colour was released, the only finishes you could get the MateBook X Pro in were grey and silver.
Huawei likes to call these colours mystic silver and space grey, and I’m assuming they’re going to call this new colour emerald green, or maybe ‘green shimmer’.
This new 2020 version of the laptop looks exactly like the 2019 version barring the new colour.
However, the specs inside have been updated slightly.
This new MateBook X Pro comes with a 10th generation Intel Core i7 Ice Lake chip.
The 14-inch display offers a 3:2 aspect ratio with 3,000 x 2,000 resolution which is exactly the same as the previous MateBook X Pro.
The MateBook X Pro is getting a 2020 update and a brand new colour
It means that the laptop has incredibly slim bezels around it and an impressive 91% screen-to-body ratio.
It really does look beautiful to behold and the aspect ratio, I believe, is far better than any other laptop because it allows for more ‘workable’ space on the screen.
However, it’s probably not the best for watching Netflix, but it’s never really bothered me.
Huawei has also said that the brightness is rated at 450nits, but other people have reported the previous version of the laptop went up to 540nits.
The laptop weighs just 1.33kg and is 14.6mm thick, which is pretty much the same as last year’s model.
It’s a gloriously light and thin laptop and perfect for someone who wants a Macbook-esque laptop just not as expensive and with more under the hood.
It also comes with Huawei Share which is a really cool feature.
It uses an NFC chip enabling you to transfer data from your phone to your laptop and vice versa.
It’s something Apple might want to take a close look at moving forward.
Huawei’s new MateBook X Pro looks splendid in emerald green
You do have to use Windows 10, but you get used to it after a while. I did.
Much like the previous version of the MateBook X Pro, the video camera lens is again hidden away in a special key between the F6 and F7 button.
There is also a fingerprint sensor in the power button which work perfectly.
Huawei hasn’t confirmed the price of this new emerald green version of the MateBook X Pro.
However, they have said it’ll be available to buy very soon.
