There are some rumours online that Apple might be revealing that they’re going to launch some new over-ear headphones.
These rumours have come after some placeholder listings reportedly appearing in Target’s product database.
These listings were then reported on by YouTuber Jon Prosser, who claimed that they show a new product called ‘Apple AirPods (X generation)’.
Prosser then added that there are three different SKUs listed for the product, which suggests the upcoming product could be available in three different colours.
Rumours have been rife over the last few years that Apple is working on some Apple-branded over-ear headphones.
Back in early 2018, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg both reported that the headphones were going to be released towards the end of 2018.
Here’s what Jon Prosser wrote on Twitter in full:
Multiple Target employees have started reaching out to me about this. Showing up in their systems and on UPC scanners is this mysterious “Apple AirPods (X Generation)” listing, priced at $399. Potentially Apple’s over-ear “StudioPods” headphones. Launch soon (March)?
Do you like the idea of Apple over-ear headphones?
However, Bloomberg then reported that in June 2018 that the headphones had been delayed after some “development challenges”.
Kuo recently suggested that Apple might release a new pair of high-end wireless headphones in the first half of 2020.
It’s about time that Apple made some decent over-ear wireless headphones.
Would you like to purchase some new Apple over-ear headphones? They might be coming out very soon
