The Falcon And The Winter Solider is Marvel Studios’ first big live-action series on Disney Plus and we’ve just got out first look at the new Captain America.
Now, many people would have thought that it was going to be Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson who would be the new Captain America.
That’s pretty normal given that Chris Evans’ aged-up Steve Rogers handed the iconic shield to him in Avengers: Endgame, however, it seems as though people might have some issues with Sam being the new Captain America.
There are rumours that in The Falcon And The Winter Soldier the US government is going to have issues with having Sam as the new Captain America, and they’ll end up coming up with a Cap of their own.
It’s been revealed thanks to these new set photos (via We Got This Covered) from The Falcon And The Winter Soldier that Wyatt Russell’s John Walker is going to be named by the government as the new Captain America.

This means that Sam Wilson will still be suiting up as The Falcon in the series, however, I’m pretty sure that the end of this first Marvel Studios Disney Plus series will end with Sam being officially recognised as the official Captain America.
That’s exactly how it should be. He was the person who Steve Rogers chose to replace him, and he’s the perfect choice.
Some people might have liked to have seen Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier take up the mantle, but I think he has his own problems to deal with, and he’s perfectly happy remaining The Winter Soldier for the time being.
