Lucifer Season 5 is literally just around the corner, and fans are desperate to know how The Devil will be able to escape Hell, and his father, God, could be the key to getting him out.
Season 5 will be Lucifer’s very last, which is a shame, but it does mean that we’re going to get a proper conclusion to the show we’ve all come to love.
It also means we’re finally going to get to see Lucifer’s father, God, in the… well… flesh.
It was announced a few days back that Dennis Haysbert is going to be playing God in the final season, and that’s wonderful.
Personally, I was hoping that Neil Gaiman was going to get to play God, but you can’t have everything.
Gaiman wrote the Lucifer comics and voiced God in Season 3, but he’s not an actor, so Haysbert was probably the best choice.
Anyway, my theory is that God will come down to Hell and help his son escaped.
The Prodigal Son could return to Heaven in Lucifer Season 5
Not only would it be a great scene between the father and son, but it would also be rather biblical.
In the Old Testament, there is a story about the Prodigal Son.
This story involves two sons – one, a well-behaved son who does as his father says, and another, a rather difficult and rebellious young boy.
Does this story ring any bells with you? It can easily be related back to both Lucifer and Amenadiel (DB Woodside).
I think Lucifer Season 5 might end up mimicking the story of the Prodigal Son and it might end up with Lucifer being welcomed back into heaven with open arms just like in the parable.
What do you make of this possibility? Do you think God will help Lucifer escape Hell in Season 5? Let us know in the comments below.
