Hugh Jackman Responds To Calls For Taron Egerton To Be Wolverine

There have been a lot of calls from Marvel fans to have Taron Egerton to play Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and Hugh Jackman has finally responded to these calls. He did this in a recent interview with Empire Magazine.

Here’s what Jackman had to say when he was asked about the calls from Marvel fans to have Egerton play Wolverine in the MCU:

Taron is one of the most talented actors out there and you can see his range is incredible. But he’s just got to cool his heels a little bit.

This all comes after it was revealed by Ryan Reynolds that Jackman would be returning to play Wolverine – aka Logan – one last time in Deadpool 3.

This was a pretty huge shock to us Marvel and Wolverine fans because Jackman had been pretty adamant that he was never going to return to play the role again after the movie Logan was released.

Jackman did open up about how he was convinced by Reynolds to come back and play Wolverine one last time in the upcoming Deadpool movie. Here’s what he had to say on the matter during an interview on The Jess Cagle Show:

I had a week’s vacation from the show and I was driving out, and I, it just came to me like that and I rang Ryan as soon as I arrived and he was floored. Interestingly, he was just about to have a meeting with Kevin Feige at Marvel at five o’clock that afternoon about the Deadpool movie. And so he goes, ‘this is really good timing, but are you really sure? Cause I don’t wanna say anything.’ I said, ‘I’m a hundred percent sure.’ And I dunno why, because I was a hundred percent sure I was out before. And then all of a sudden I was a hundred percent in.

Little has been revealed about the movie other than the fact Reynolds and Jackman are starring in the picture. Reynolds will be working with Shawn Levy on the film again, after having worked on Free Guy and The Adam Project together.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are currently writing the latest iteration of the film.

Deadpool 3 is set for release on November 8th, 2024.
