What the actual f..k! Hugh Jackman will be playing Wolverine again in the upcoming Deadpool 3 movie. This news was revealed by Ryan Reynolds himself on his Twitter account. I’m pretty sure he also shared this news across all his social media channels: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat… I’m pretty sure he has Snapchat. Do you still use Snapchat…?

Anyway, I digress. This is huge news! Fans have wanted to see the Aussie actor turn up as Wolverine alongside Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool for years now. I actually think, however, that the one person who’s wanted that to happen more than anyone else is Ryan Reynolds himself. And, now it’s actually happening. I genuinely cannot believe it because I never really believed that Jackman would ever return as Wolverine after Logan. He made it very clear that that movie was going to be the last time he would ever play the role. I guess everyone’s got their price…

As for the third Deadpool film, it will be officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). That much was confirmed by Marvel President, Kevin Feige. It’s also going to be directed by Shawn Levy. He’s worked with Reynolds on his last two movies: Free Guy and The Adam Project. Levy actually revealed in an interview that he would love to see Reynolds star opposite the Australian actor in the third Deadpool film. Seems as though he’s got his wish.

Levy’s actually directed Jackman before in the movie Real Steel, so it seems like they are all going to be one big happy family whilst filming this upcoming Deadpool movie. Marvel and Reynolds had initially hired Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin, known for the animated series Bob’s Burgers, to write the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. However, it was later revealed that Marvel Studios had hired Shawn Levy to direct the movie and that the franchise’s original writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, were back on writing duties for the third Merc With A Mouth movie.

It’s going to be very interesting to see how this movie ends up turning out. It was also revealed that this film would be an R-rated movie. There was a lot of speculation that the upcoming movie would be toned down after Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. However, Deadpool fans were delighted to hear that the Ryan Reynolds movie was going to be the first MCU movie to be R-rated. It seems as though Marvel and Disney are allowing Reynolds, Reese, Wernick and Levy to basically do whatever they wanted with this movie.
Deadpool 3 was rumoured to be released on September 6th, 2024 – but that release date hadn’t been confirmed by Marvel Studios, until now, that is. Reynolds also revealed something else during his video. He revealed that the movie is going to be released on that date, which is pretty darn cool!
