A future GI Joe/Transformers is a strong possibility, according to Snake Eyes himself, and who are we to argue?

As we reported yesterday, due to the poor box office returns for Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins, a direct sequel is unlikely to move forward.

In a new interview with CinePop, following producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura’s comments about the prospect of a crossover between the two properties, Golding has expressed his support for the idea.

Golding wants to see the G.I. Joe/Transformers crossover happen

When asked about the prospect of a GI Joe/Transformers crossover, Golding expressed his enthusiasm, citing examples of crossovers between the two properties in other media:

It’s 100% possible. I used to read the comic books, the Transformers/G.I. Joe combination comic books. So they’re all kind of living in that world. But who knows. I think they’re planning another Transformers movie at the moment. Hopefully we’ll be exploring the rest of the G.I. Joe universe at the same time. Maybe one day [they’ll come together].

Given that the idea has the backing of Golding, and di Bonaventura recently admitted that a crossover is “inevitable,” it’s surely a matter of time before this crossover becomes a reality.

Should it come to fruition, there’ll definitely be more to this film than meets the eye.
